Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas Officially Separate After 6 Years of Marriage #RHOA
Cynthia Bailey has confirmed that she has separated from her husband of six years, Peter Thomas. The Real Housewives of Atlanta beauty told Bravo’s Daily Dish about the split.
“Peter and I are separated. He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta,” Cynthia confirmed on Tuesday. “I am definitely taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward. I don’t want to rush into anything, so I think this time apart is good for us.”
The marriage, which was kicked off by a Bravo wedding, has been plagued with cheating rumors for some time. The Atlanta couple dealt with their biggest scandal when a video surfaced of Peter engaged in “inappropriate” behavior with an unidentified female. The video featured Thomas at his Charlotte bar, getting too cozy with a woman who is not his wife. He appears to kiss her cheek, stroke her neck, and run his hand along her breast.
Bailey reportedly acknowledged the struggle with the long distance relationship, a few months ago. In April, Bailey hinted that an official separation may be in the works.
“I have been taking some time for myself to just kind of figure out how I would like to move forward.” Bailey told the Daily Dish. “We haven’t officially done anything at this point, but we are definitely talking about taking steps to officially move forward in a different direction.”
Many believe that the couple has been separated for months. Peter supposedly blames the drama triggered by the show, for their inability to make their marriage work. Cynthia believes that the time apart, will allow them both to gain perspective.
“And I think the space apart, I think he can appreciate it as well,” she continued. “I think it gives people time to think and process and just move forward in a way that really is healthy for everyone involved.”
Most fans have seen this split coming for a long time. Another ‘Housewives’ marriage bites the dust.
