Luann de Lesseps Slams Ramona For Being A Hypocrite Who Lets Her “Freak Flag Fly” When Sauced #RHONY
This season on The Real Housewives of New York, we got to see Luann de Lesseps’ new man and her sloppy seconds.
These ‘Housewives’ like to carefully craft their persona. Luann was the wife of a Frenchman who held an old, irrelevant title, but that title helped thrust her into New York society. She tried to build herself into a brand — Class with the Countess. Naturally, we saw through the cracks. Ramona Singer let us know early on that Luann had an open marriage. But her days of boinking strangers is over. Because now there’s Tom.
“I’m looking for a man who is intelligent, confident and sexy and who has a great sense of humor, and I think I’ve found that in Tom… We texted back and forth yet we couldn’t seem to coordinate our schedules. Luckily, before Thanksgiving, I ran into him, and immediately the sparks began to fly.”
And so what if Ramona dated him?
“I didn’t feel the need to loop Ramona in at this point because our relationship is new and I wanted to keep him out of the fray as long as possible. Wouldn’t you?”
Tom is definitely an upgrade from Crazy Rey. According to Ramona, Luann had more than a fling with him. Does anyone else remember a few seasons ago when Luann told Bethenny Frankel not to date too many men — that it would make her seem like a loose woman?
“…you met one of my mistakes, and this episode you get to meet Mr. Right! I had a very brief fling with Rey, the guy John ejected from his party, but I knew almost immediately that there was something off about him. He’s a hot mess, and I’m too old to take on any improvement projects.”
Luann thinks John did the right thing by asking Rey to leave the dry cleaning party.
“Ramona, Sonja and I made Page Six after the incident at John’s party. I was mentioned as leaving the scene before John kicked out Ramona and Rey. John’s quote, “I took out the grime” was spot on!”
And Luann is disgusted by Ramona’s behavior.
“Ramona is a hypocrite when she judges our partying, because she’s as bad or worse when it comes to having a couple of drinks and letting her freak flag fly… When she told her side of the story at Bethenny’s caviar party, you see how she omits any wrongdoing of her own and blames the entire incident on John.”
Dorinda Medley no longer cares what Ramona thinks of her significant other.
“Dorinda’s heard enough about how Ramona feels about John and she’s losing her patience with Ramona’s antics. In fact, this constant conflict with Ramona is making Dorinda anxious and is destroying her inner peace. Not good.”
Sorry, but I’m with Ramona on this one. On her own, I like Dorinda very much, but John and Dorinda together are a noxious cocktail. She needs to cut three hundred pounds of dead weight from her life.
Luann headed on over to Dorinda’s Berkshire estate for an overnight. Sonja Morgan, Luann’s roomie, was disinvited, which made things very awkward.
“Sonja’s feelings were hurt even though you see how gracious she was to Dorinda by agreeing to visit alone. Sonja hasn’t always surrounded herself with the best people, and I’m trying to mentor her into expecting more from the people in her life.”
Bethenny ridiculed the idea of Luann acting as a mentor.
“Bethenny’s comment that it’s like the blind leading the deaf was rude. I like to have fun, but I also have good judgment when it comes to my friends. I will not waste time with people who detract from my life; instead, I surround myself with people who make my life better.”
Then why is Luann still on the show? She’s had a lot of interaction with people who aren’t making her life better. But hey, a paycheck is a paycheck, right?
So is Luann a good mentor? And what do you make of this Rey situation? Was Luann in deeper than she cares to admit?
