Bethenny Frankel Makes Excuses For Her Bitchiness & Poor Behavior At Jules’ Brunch #RHONY

The Real Housewives of New York Bethenny-Jules-RHONY

This week’s Real Housewives of New York was uncomfortable to watch, however I’m sure actually attending Bethenny Frankel’s birthday party was even worse. The tension between Luann de Lesseps, who arrived with a hula hoop for some reason, and Carole Radziwill was palpable. And that was the fun part!

The squicky part was watching Bethenny act so freaking rude to Dorinda Medley’s dopey boyfriend, John. Yes, they argued two days before the party, and no, John hadn’t apologized. But as Bethenny said herself, she wanted Dorinda to come. Having John tag along as a plus one was part of the deal. Bethenny defends herself.

“I am a reality star on a reality show. Bravo asked me to return because they feel that I am honest, direct and don’t manufacture drama or edit myself. This episode is a brutally honest example of that. I always say: You may not like me, but you know you’re getting the truth.”

True enough. But girl, be gracious to someone in your home. That’s the rule. Do you think I like my in-laws descending on me like Daenerys Stormborn’s dragons every Christmas? No, I do not. But I suck it up and start drinking mimosas at breakfast in order to make it through the damn day, like a normal person! Take a page, Bethenny.

“Perhaps I don’t like or trust John or his influence on Dorinda. I have made that clear… Now, two days later, she, in my opinion, mistakenly brings him to my birthday party. He, in my opinion, mistakenly comes. The sight and presence of him was too much for me. I didn’t want him there. I made that clear. I didn’t buy his apology. Now I need to try to suck it up for Dorinda. A bitch I may be but an honest one.”

Well, that explains John, but what about brunch with Jules “I hide in the bathroom so I don’t have to eat” Wainstein?

“I didn’t want to go and had no idea it was such an intimate setting. Four of the seven in the group are in conflict… I made it clear to Carole that I was dreading it, and I made a mistake in being there. I truly thought it would be a big group.”

B. doesn’t like Jules, and I get it. I’m not that crazy about her either. But once again, it’s called being an adult and sucking it up for a couple of hours.

“In my real life, like on my reality show, I speak candidly to my friends, one of whom is Carole. In that real world I tell my friends when I think someone lives in a McMansion or tries to show everyone how much money they have… It is ‘all show and no go.’”

Nor did Bethenny like having to haul herself out to the middle of nowhere for a “schmear”.

“My house may be smaller than Jules‘ 9,400 sq. foot house but then again, she brought that up not me. I live in a beautiful house in a great area in the center of the Hamptons. It is paid in full by yours truly and completely finished. And she is right that you can put a rollercoaster in her living room, but if I have to drive deep into the woods, step on nails and dog sh– to get there then, I won’t be riding it.”

But she finally admits that she was rude and made a mistake.

“My renovation advice I should keep to myself, and shame on us for going there if we couldn’t be gracious… That said, I own my bitchiness as always. I made a mistake. All I can say is my bitchiness is there for everyone to see versus only when I’m in an interview chair.”

Hmm, she might have a point there. I think a slap on the face is better than a knife in the back, but Bethenny’s immaturity this week was a little too much for even me. And you know how I feel about my OGs.

So, what would you do if John showed up at your birthday party? Hide the straws and accept him with grace or kick his ass to the curb. And what does Dorinda see in this guy? Can someone help me out here? Because I don’t get it!
