Yolanda Hadid is a #ProudMommy, and no one had better soil the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s angel, Gigi Hadid — even with the truth.

Former fashion model, turned reality show host, as well as a TV producer of GSN’s Skin Wars, Rebecca Romjin, recently spoke to E! News, sharing insight on the current faces of the moment — social media powerhouses, Gigi Hadid, and Kendall Jenner. When asked her thoughts on the new generation of models, and their huge impact on social media, Romjin didn’t hold back.

“No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue. So it is frustrating. I know a lot of people — legitimate fashion people — can’t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion.” The actress tells E!, “They are not true supermodels. And the thing is, I have always looked to Vogue magazine to lead the way, not be a follower. I rely on Vogue to set the standard, not follow what everybody else is doing.”

“So I have been disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards. But it will change; fashion always does.”

Romjin, 43, speaks for many fashion purists, annoyed by industry standards being determined by groupies clicking “like” buttons. Nowhere did she diss Hadid’s industry power, or her accomplishments — a fact Romjin clarified, via Twitter.

Yolanda lashed out at indirectly at Romjin, blasting her opinion, despite the veteran’s honest and educated analysis.

Fans chimed in, blasting Yolanda’s input.

One follower pointed out Romjin’s tweet, clarifying that she was not throwing shade at TheGigi.

Yolanda’s claws were out, and she snapped back.

Gigi Hadid reportedly pockets hundreds of thousands per Instagram post. When Hadid ignored Romjin’s point — and clarification — she indeed revealed a deliberate blindness to Romjin’s astute, and often media drowned-out observation. It was crackerjack analysis, that was long overdue — whether Yolanda Hadid likes it or not.
