As reportedBethenny Frankel put her foot in her mouth at an entrepreneurial speaking engagement in New York City on April 9.

The Real Housewives of New York star was a guest speaker at Rent The Runway’s and UBS’s Project Entrepreneur summit last Saturday, where she reportedly remarked that women should have sex with men for business gain and told the audience she felt a closeness with black women because she’s “loud.”

According to an attendee who wrote about the experience for the Huffington Post, Frankel advised the audience “to hire a white man as the face of our companies.”

The following tweet led All About the Tea to obtain audio from the event, “Funny how in a room of hundreds of people & phones no one has me saying it. Don’t speak unless ur educated on the topic.” Frankel tweeted.

A guest, who’s having issues with her company, asked Frankel if she should “hire a white male to be the face of my company.” Listen to Frankel‘s response in the audio from the event below. The controversial remarks occur in the last 10-minutes of the recording, but there’s gems of stupidity throughout.

Some women in the crowd took offense by the outspoken Skinnygirl mogul’s remarks and a few women approached the podium to counterpoint Frankel’s assertions. The moderator reportedly removed the mic from their hands.

Project Entrepreneur issued an apology on their website.

“We understand that guests were offended during our Day 1 luncheon, following remarks made by our speaker. This was not our intention and is contrary to our goals. We apologize to our guests,” the statement reads. “We launched Project Entrepreneur to champion all women. We thank those of you who candidly spoke out and welcome this important dialogue.”
