Joe Giudice Hoping To Detox From Alcohol In Prison
Is prison the new Alcoholics Anonymous?
If you’re Joe Giudice and you’re drinking two bottles of wine a night, you might see prison as a rehabilitation program for alcohol abuse instead of what it really is, punishment for fraud.
“I am not going to be able to drink for a while, which is good because I don’t even know when it’s been since I haven’t had a drink,” he told People. “It’s been a long time.”
Of course, with a name like “Juicy” Joe and the fact that he has shown on The Real Housewives of New Jersey he can make his own wine, the inmates may look to Joe to start making the jailhouse hooch.
So when did Joe’s drinking get so out of control? When Teresa left home to serve her time in Danbury last year, Joe used alcohol to cope with the stress of raising four daughters and to “just go to bed.”
“For a solid year with all this TV crap and socializing with people every day and going here and there you are constantly drinking, so it will probably do me good,” he said of going to jail.
Giudice begins his prison stint on Wednesday, March 23 at Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix), but fear not, after getting a pre-prison checkup, Joe says his “liver is still in good shape, and I don’t know how that is.”
