As the memorial proceedings for Angela “Big Ang“ Raiola took place on Saturday, two people were been banned from attending the Mob Wives‘ star memorial service.
Ang’s fellow Mob Wives stars, Karen Gravano and Brittany Fogarty, along with Fogarty’s mother, Andrea Giovino, received the news they weren’t invited due to the “sins of their fathers” who each cooperated with authorities’ years ago.
Fogarty‘s dad, John Fogarty, is currently in the witness protection program for nearly 25-years after he turned in states evidence regarding other mobsters. And Gravano’s father, Sammy “the Bull” Gravano, aided in the take down of John Gotti.
“There are going to be some people going to the service whose fathers may have been killed, or put away by their cooperation,” Giovino tells Confidenti@l.
Big Ang didn’t hold grudges like those in organized crime often do and looked past Fogarty’s family history, welcoming her to the show when she joined last year. According to her mother, this is why Fogarty was so upset that she was banned – she only wants to pay her respects.
“She’s very upset,” Giovino said. “She can’t even talk on the phone. She’s just been crying. They had a great relationship,” she added. “Big Ang treated her like a daughter.”
Fogarty and Giovino were reportedly on their way to Saturday’s visitation when “Mob Wives” producer, Jennifer Graziano, called to tell them that Big Ang‘s ex-husband said they weren’t welcome.
They didn’t believe it at first, but when fellow star, Drita D’avanzo, confirmed the news in a separate phone call, they knew it was true.
“It’s about Ang,” Giovino said. “It’s the respect for her. I feel bad (we) couldn’t respect her and her family by going.”
Fogarty and her mom (Giovino), have no intention of showing up uninvited to any of the planned events. Instead, mother and daughter plan to visit the grave site of Big Ang later in the week.

As reported, the Mob Wife wanted her life celebrated with a disco-themed funeral where family and friends would dance, drink, and remember the good times.
