Alexa “Lex” McAllister, 31, former contestant on The Bachelor in 2010, died early Tuesday of an apparent suicide after a drug overdose, police confirmed.
McAllister appeared on season 14 of ABC’s The Bachelor, widely considered by fans to be one of the favorite seasons. The season featured pilot Jake Pavelka. McAllister was eliminated from the show after the first week.
McAllister’s family believes her death was a suicide, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. A family member told the outlet that the reality alum has struggled with depression and bipolar disorder.

She was transported to a hospital in stable condition, but was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. on Tuesday after her health took a turn.
