‘Mob Wives’ Big Ang Raiola Leaves Her Husband Amid Cancer Battle! “He Never Stepped Up to the Plate”

I am so lucky to combine blogging with my guilty pleasure of watching reality TV. I read all the comments and respond to most. Feel free to reach out to me. If you like fiction, I have two published novels: Three Days in Purgatory and A Reason to Run.

Shocking news from Big Ang Riola – not only has she split from her husband, Neil Murphy, the Mob Wives star has been hospitalized due to complications from stage-4 lung and brain cancer. Even worse, Big Ang was told she only has a 30% chance of survival.

The reality star recently told Dr. Oz about her husband,

“I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it.” Adding, “Now, it’s too late. I would rather be by myself. I would rather be alone.”

Thankfully, she’s not completely alone. She is surrounded by her two children, six grandchildren, sister and extended family who are by her side and take her to her doctor’s appointments.

“If it wasn’t for them, how would I get through this?” she said Dr. Oz.

Big Ang has undergone multiple surgeries to remove tumors from her body. Each time she was told she’d beaten cancer, and each time the cancer came back.

“It’s shocking what happened,” she revealed. “First I thought I was cancer-free. I was gonna have a big celebration … and then a month later I was stage 4.”

During a routine check-up in December, Big Ang learned the cancer had once again returned, spreading to her brain and lungs.

“I was completely devastated. I couldn’t hear what they were saying. … I feel like I went deaf,” she said through tears. “I was like, oh, this is going too fast for me. Now I’m just hysterical.”

Unfortunately, the chemotherapy didn’t work and her tumors are growing, so Big Ang is trying a new treatment to help fight the disease.

“It’s destroying me,” she said about the cancer. “I can’t even believe what I look like.”

Big Ang’s sister, Janine Detore, started a GoFundMe page for $25,000 to raise money to pay for the treatments. Since going live, the site has exceeded its goal by $5K.
