Sonja Morgan Reveals Bethenny Frankel “Wasn’t Thrilled” with Her Tipsy Girl Liquor Line
Have you seen Khloe Kardashian’s new show, Kocktails with Khloe?
Fifteen new shows have been ordered after her debut was the highest-rated series premiere in network history. Our girl, Sonja Morgan, star of The Real Housewives of New York, stopped by to pimp her line, Tipsy Girl – though don’t get too used to that name. Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan are “at odds” over the name of the pink prosecco line due to its similarity to Skinnygirl.
On the show, Sonja, who was only drinking club soda, shared she is getting ready to release (a commonly used phrase by Morgan) a new beverage line, but things aren’t easy right now.
“I have to do something about the name. My girlfriend Bethenny wasn’t thrilled with that,” Sonja said. “It didn’t hit me, and then Bethenny was like, ‘Uh, I don’t like that.’ And I was like, ‘Oops, OK. We need to go back to the drawing board and figure something out that doesn’t come between my friendship. You know, I love the name, and I want to work. I’m just trying to work.”
There is one difference in the brand between Bethenny’s Skinnygirl and Sonja’s Tipsy Girl, and that’s the obvious one word vs. two. Perhaps Sonja should change the prosecco to ‘Tipsy Lady.’ Let’s face it, Sonja is a class act, and this name would be more fitting. Or would Bethenny have a problem with this, too?
“I need to drop the word ‘girl,’ but my partners already trademarked that almost a year ago,” Sonja explained. “I’ve been in the restaurant business for decades, and I have my Sonja in the City catering business, so it all goes hand-in-hand. It’s all coming together at this ripe old age.”
She’s also been in public relations for decades. Good luck to these two friends. Hopefully they can figure it out in time for the RHONY season finale.
