RECAP: #MobWives “Younger Version Of The Same Old BS” [Season 6, Episode 6]
The aftermath of the Brittany/Marissa fight leaves the rest of the group picking sides. Karen claims she’s not picking sides because of loyalty and history, but Brittany feels differently. Karen asked Brittany to respect her and talk things out instead of going after Marissa like a wild banshee. It does seem like Brittany had a coach by her side. Drita suggested they take their fight out into the parking lot where a million people aren’t trying to eat dinner. Brittany is down with that plan until security sends her nemesis home in a car. When did Renee become the sane cast member? It’s pretty clear this war has just begun, and it will cause problems with the others.
Speaking of Drita, she’s working hard on her book. She meets Ang at a restaurant that use to be a strip club for mobsters. Drita wants inspiration. She describes it as every wife/girlfriend’s nightmare, and heaven for mobsters. Ang asks the owner if she knows what use to happen in the backroom. Drita’s going to places that triggers memories.
Over in the insane asylum aka Renee’s house, she finally got her son AJ and his girlfriend Andrea to move in. (Part-time anyway.) Renee worked hard redecorating the room for them. Actually Ang took over because Renee smoked too much weed and tried to decorate it herself. She says it’s all worth it. Andrea and Aj are impressed. Aj even jokes about Renee painting the room herself. Renee has some rules. No alcohol, No parties, and Aj does their laundry. Aj has some rules for his mom. She has to food shop, and buy him snacks, she has to cook dinner, and he doesn’t take out the garbage. Renee throws one more rule in the mix. No loud sex. Both Aj and Andrea think that’s TMI. There are certain things a mom shouldn’t know.
Marissa meets Ang for drinks. She’s interested in her opinion on the banshee fight she had with Brittany. Ang just went in for some X-Rays. She can’t go home because she can’t be around kids. She had some radioactive dye injected in her blood for the test. Ang is sick of tests and Drs. Appointments. She knows she has to stay on top of her health now, but it’s a pain in the butt. Ang has another opinion about the aggressor. She thinks Marissa attacked first. Now if we playback, Brittany not only came to fight, but she got up first. Brittany was in flats with her hair braided. Marissa had her hair done, a bikini and high heels. Marissa says Brittany got up first. Marissa was just a little quicker with the punches. Marissa doesn’t understand how it’s her fault. She thinks they might be giving Brittany a little too much coaching, and benefit of the doubt. Marissa thinks Drita may be partly to blame. Ang just doesn’t like seeing people fight. She likes to be friends with everyone. Marissa warns: Brittany is dead to her. She better chill or she’s going to get “rocked” again and no one will stop her.
So, Drita meets with Brittany and her mother to talk about what happened and Karen’s lack of loyalty. Brittany is still pissed about the fight. She wanted to talk to her mom about it because she has her own history with people from “the lifestyle.” She invited Drita because she’s the only person she can trust. Brittany gets all worked up when she recaps the fight for her mom. She says Marissa has a “pu**y punch.” If she threw a punch her face would have a hole in it..blah blah blah. Drita and Brittany CLAIM Marissa got to punch, but security stepped in before Brittany could retaliate. They quickly move onto Karen. Karen called Brittany out when she kept looking at Drita for “coaching.” She was looking at Drita because she understood how Brittany was feeling. Karen never called Brittany after the fight. According to Drita that’s friendship 101. Then Brittany’s mom goes on a rant about being friends with Karen’s family for 20 years. Her loyalty should’ve been to Brittany. They almost moved to Arizona when Karen’s family was relocated.
Ang with her sometimes hubby Neil go to the Dr to discuss her latest test results. It isn’t good news. Ang has something in her lungs now. She smoked for a long time, so it’s no surprise. Ang has to go to a specialist and get it biopsied. It’s something the Dr. is very worried about. Ang is so over Drs. and surgeries. She doesn’t want to deal with another surgery. She says she rather die. The Dr. says there is no choice. She has a family, and a husband. She needs to take care of this.
Carla is busy unpacking her new house. She shows Karen around. Carla invited Karen over so she can show her the before and after pics. Carla still has some painting, and she has to buy furniture. Carla and Karen move onto the fight. Carla says obviously Marissa wasn’t ready to fight. Brittany was out of control. Karen asked Brittany to respect her because she’s in the middle and talk things out. Karen thinks Drita did some manipulating. Karen says it’s not Marissa putting a wedge in their friendship. It’s Drita. Brittany sounded a lot like Drita. Karen thinks Drita isn’t calming the situation down. She’s fanning the flames, and making Brittany act crazier.
Drita is in her empty store getting ready to close down because it’s way too hot. She’s ready to jump in the pool. She calls Lee to once again ask him to support her book. It’s been a nightmare, and Lee is stressing her out. So, she calls him and talks to him about her outing to the former strip club. Back in the day, Lee used to hang out at the strip club with ladies all around him. Drita tries again to convince Lee she has a story, and she wants to tell it. She wants his support. Lee changes his tune and says “write the best fu*king book you can.” Drita is relieved she has his support. It makes everything more peaceful.
Brittany is still on her banshee fight tour. She wants to talk to Karen about loyalty. She says she’s not sure who Karen is loyal to, and it’s making her nuts. (Yeah, sure Brit) She says as far as she’s concerned Karen is no friend. As soon as Karen sits down, Brittany starts ranting. She WANTED to fight with Marissa. As soon as Marissa sat down she should have started punching. She shouldn’t have listened to the sane members of the group. She’s pissed Karen didn’t let her fight. Karen calls Brittany a juvenile delinquent. She needs to slow her roll before she slows it for her. Brittany demands to know where Karen’s loyalty is. She thinks Karen is more loyal to Marissa. Karen says she won’t pick sides. She’s friends with both ladies. Karen says hell no. She welcomed Brittany into her home, she smoothed things out with Renee, and she requested Brittany sit down with Marissa and have a discussion. Karen is disappointed Brittany didn’t respect her enough to talk things out. They have different ideas about loyalty. Karen once again brings up Drita’s influence. Karen says Drita isn’t Brittany’s friend. Drita befriends anyone who might have problems with Karen. She used Brittany to do her dirty work. Brittany says it’s not Drita manipulating her. Karen is. She says she’s not falling into Karen’s trap. Karen says she wants to put all that behind them. She hopes the fight doesn’t affect her friendship. Both of them don’t trust each other 100%.
Ang is going through a lot. She needs support. She calls Renee and Karen. When the ladies sit down, Ang fills the girls in on her latest Dr. appointment. Renee wants Ang to do what’s best so she can live a healthy life. Ang breaks down in tears. She says she thinks she’s going to die. Her family depends on her so she keeps everything to herself. She doesn’t want to tell the kids about her health problems. Karen says everyone needs to put the bickering aside and come together to support their friend.
The wild banshee tour continues on the next Mob Wives.
