Kim Richards “Fragile” Following Ex-Husband Monty Brinson’s Death — Family Worried Of Relapse!
Kim Richards has lost a best friend, and her loved ones are nervous about what impact the death of her ex-husband, Monty Brinson, will have on the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The 51-year-old was married to Brinson from 1985-88. He lived with Richards toward the end of his battle with lung cancer.
We all know that Kim’s sobriety is a fragile and shifting reality, so it’s no surprise that her friends and family are concerned that she may be headed for another dive into the addiction-pool. A source spoke to People, about the heightened concern.
“Kim is in a vulnerable position because she’s very fragile and everyone is worried how Monty’s death will affect her,” a source close to the family says. “Everyone is hoping it won’t send her off the deep end, because she’s dealt with so many issues already.”
YAWN. Most viewers will remember Kim’s claim that coping with Monty’s illness contributed to her plastered meltdown at the Beverly Hills Hotel, last spring. A shoplifting arrest, a rehab escape, and a wedding relapse were next on Kim’s junkie hit parade. Now everyone is EXTRA concerned, because Kim is grieving a loss that is suffered by thousands of functioning adults every day?
Kim must be loving the attention, not to mention squirreling away the sad-sack excuse. Her sister, Kyle Richards, claimed that Kim was in “a great place” in her recovery, days before Monty’s death. Monty sadly lost his battle with cancer this week, and lived with Kim, towards the end of his illness.
“Monty was Kim’s best friend. She can’t believe he’s really gone,” the source says. “It’s all incredibly painful. Brooke is such a sweet girl and for her to lose her father so young is just heartbreaking.”
Reportedly, Kim and Kyle, have found peace in their stormy relationship, during this difficult time.
“Kyle is supporting Kim throughout all of this,” the source explains. “No matter how strained their relationship, Kim and Kyle are sisters and family is more important than anything. Nothing else matters when a tragedy like this happens.”
Cheers to Kim, and to the dysfunctional support system that always has her back.
