Well, here’s some disturbing news.

On December 14, Vanderpump Rules newbie, Lala Kent, appeared on the Nik Richie Podcast and discussed her relationship with James Kennedy, SUR’s busboy/DJ. And what went down delves into very questionable territory.

First, Lala claims she was never that into James.

“Well let’s not get it twisted. Was I ever, like, sexually attracted to James? No. We had a lot of fun. I could stand to make out with him.”

But she did have sex with him, and here’s where it gets very icky.

“We f***ed one time and I was so blackout drunk I don’t remember one thing. And I know that everyone says that, but I will say, I take accountability for every single one of my actions and I’m owning that now. Because I saw the condom and the wrapper so I know that something happened.”

Richie points out that might be considered rape. Lala disagrees:

“I’m not screaming rape. It was obviously—”

Richie asks, “It was obviously what? Consensual…”

Lala discusses the conversation that took place with James the next day.

“Yeah. Well, he was like, “babe, we slept together last night,” and he was like, “we got in your shower too babe.” And I was like, “how the f*** did we both fit in there?” Like, my shower is a two by four.”

Richie threw some blame Lala’s way.

“And you just laughed that off Lala? That makes me not like you right now… You’re like, “oh hey hey funny James you banged me last night but I don’t remember.”

Richie’s sidekick, Scooby Sunday, stuck up for Lala, saying, “She’s young.”

But Lala continues to defend James:

“People do that all the time. I know for damn sure he’s not gonna rape me. I’ve known this kid for a long time. He bangs really hot chicks though, you guys. How does he pull that? I don’t get it.”

Richie suggested that James might take advantage of women when they were too drunk to remember what happened. Lala seems confused.

“Oh. You think he knew that I was blackout and was like, “going home with Lala tonight?”

She claims that what happened wasn’t wrong.

“Well, we’re not gonna throw the rape-y card around because I didn’t feel violated. I just felt like, I mean, good for you. No I didn’t feel violated. He’s harmless. Trust me.”

Lala and James appeared together that night on Watch What Happens Live, where they annoyed host, Andy Cohen, by using so many swear words, the censor had to work overtime.

I feel kind of sad that Lala doesn’t see this as a betrayal at the very least. James is supposed to be her friend. What’s your take?
