Bravo has NeNe Leakes by the balls!

A new report claims the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star is being pressured into returning to Bravo’s hit reality series by producers and she’s refusing.

According to Radar Online, producers want NeNe’s polarizing presence full-time next season, and if she declines, Bravo execs are threatening to cut her involvement from E!’s Fashion Police as punishment.

Leakes’ participation on RHOA Season 8 has and will continue to be limited, however, producers claim NeNe’s presence garner higher ratings.

“Bravo execs want to bring NeNe back full time next year,” an insider told Radar. “The fans miss NeNe and even though there is tons of drama this year without her, with her back, it would just take the show to the next level.”

“NeNe isn’t ready to return to the show next year, however,” the source said. And NBC Universal is now getting involved.

Bravo is owned by NBC Universal and headquartered in New York City. The E! network is also under the NBC Universal umbrella; E! is the cable channel that airs NeNe’s new hosting gig, Fashion Police. NBC’s ownership gives Bravo leverage to end Nene’s Fashion Police hosting job. Bloop!

The source dished,

“NeNe loves being a part of Fashion Police, but the network is ready to cut ties if she doesn’t agree to their terms. NeNe seems to think she is better than doing reality television and has moved on from RHOA,” the source claimed. “Going back would be a step back in her plan to become a global brand. She has a clothing line, and no longer wants to be associated with a reality show.”

The 48-year old surprised viewers when she returned on last week’s episode to make up with Cynthia Bailey, after their friendship ended on a sour note.

NeNe will also show up on the cast trip to Jamaica in an upcoming episode—unannounced—much to the surprise of her unsuspecting co-stars. In addition, NeNe will be making an undetermined number of appearances during Season 8.

The source added, “RHOA continues to be the crown in Bravo’s crown and the network wants it to shine. With NeNe.”
