Transgender Actress Amiyah Scott Quits #RHOA — Because Producers Gave Her The Villain Edit!
Amiyah Scott wants to be a role model for the transgender community. That’s why she signed up for a trial run on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the way she expected.
Apparently, producers wanted to cast Amiyah in the role of the sexy villain, trashing the other ‘Housewives’ and wearing hot outfits while she did it. In an Instagram message, she states she “wanted to maintain my dignity” and “assist in breaking a stereotype.”
According to Scott, after a month of filming, she walked away. And she’s good with it. “…everything happens for a reason & it was still an awesome experience!”
The 27-year old turned her back on the villain edit but was fortunate to land a role on Lee Daniels‘ upcoming Empire spin-off about Cookie’s life before prison.
Former costar Kandi Burruss confirmed the exit on Instagram on Monday, saying, “I hate that it didn’t work out. I enjoyed taping with you the few times we did tape. ???? Bigger & Better things ahead in your future!”
