RECAP: Love & Hip Hop: New York “Secrets And Lies” [Season 6, Episode 2]

The drama is heating up on Love & Hip Hop New York! A love triangle, Medeecees upcoming jail time, and some new blood stirring the pot. Well here comes Cardi B who introduces herself as the turned up chick on social media who talks crap. Let’s just say she’s proud of what God gave her. She says every time she starts having feelings for a man, she reminds herself she has bills to pay. DJ Self says she’s a stripper trying to be an artist, and she needs his help. He’s addicted to the Cardi distraction. So, he meets her at the strip club. Cardi thinks Dj Self has been acting funny. She’s not sure if he’s “dealing with somebody.” She says he lies. She doesn’t like liars, surprises or anything that might send her to jail. Self wants to keep their relationship on the down low. No pictures or videos allowed. Cardi doesn’t like that. She’s dating a guy currently in jail, and he wants her to leave the guy. Cardi doesn’t think he’s ready to be with her. She’s not falling for his crap.  

Rah Ali meets BBOD. She’s pissed because she put her rep on the line. MissMoeMoney has always been a firecracker, but Rah Ali says if she’s going to rep them, they need to act accordingly. Rah Ali says she can’t act like everything’s cool when it isn’t. She meets them for drinks. Alcohol is a great idea when you have a loose cannon. Anyways, Rah Ali and MissMoeMoney get into an argument about the appropriate time to deal with beef. SexxyLexxy agrees Moe was wrong, but everyone needs to calm down. Rah’s had enough. She recommends Lexxy get her “Beyonce on,” and go solo. Moe says managers have tried to tear them apart in the past. She doesn’t need Rah. Moe gets up and leaves. Rah says she’s going nowhere fast. Lexxy suggests favoritism may be the issue. Right in the middle of Lexxy defending Moe, she comes back and accuses Lexxy of being unloyal. Lexxy eventually leaves with Moe.  

Rich Dollaz is happy he’s back in New York, but he says it gets lonely. He reflects back on his failed L.A. relationship. He wants to keep the things that matter close. His sixteen-year-old daughter is staying with him for awhile. He’s looking forward to some one-on-one time with her. She lives with her mom in Memphis. He lays down some rules while she’s in New York. She sets some ground rules of her own. No women, and no alcohol. Rich knows her mom would be pissed if anything funny happened, so he’s ok with her rules. As an overprotective dad, he asks her about her boyfriend back home. Anyone have a new respect for Rich right now? He asks his daughter if she’s a virgin. She laughs then says she’s not. Rich says he’s about to cry. He makes sure she knows about safe sex. So embarrassing for an average teenager. Double embarrassing for a teenager discussing her sex life on a TV show with her father. (Who doesn’t have the best rep when it comes to women.) He says she can come talk to him about guys and sex. He wants to empower his daughter. He thinks she’s taking the conversation seriously. They hug it out.  

Remy is done shopping by the time Rah Ali shows up. (2 hours late) She’s pissed Rah is late, but she’s happy to see her. Remy wants her friend to help plan her wedding. Rah rants about her manager problems. Remy is over the moon about planning her wedding. Rah is excited to plan Remy’s wedding!  

Tara is at the pier doing some sort of exercises. Amina wants to know what her two-timing hubby has been up to. She does want to work things out with Peter. Amina’s women’s intuition is telling her it was a mistake for Tara to move into the same building. Amina thinks things are still hot and heavy between those two. Amina asks Tara if she knows where Peter is. She asks Tara questions about Peter’s recent activities. Amina wants to know if Peter’s been playing house with Tara. Tara drops a bombshell on Amina. She says, according to Peter they (Amina and Peter) aren’t together. This shocks Amina. They agree Peter’s a liar. Tara isn’t going to tell Amina what happened between them. It’s not her job. She rants about Amina being screwed up because she didn’t acknowledge he was in a relationship and had kids. She says if Peter’s lying to her deal with it. Amina says her hubby still loves Tara. Tara asks her why she wants to be with a guy who still loves his ex.  

After hearing her husband could be locked up for awhile, Yandy says she just wants to sit around and sob. She knows she has to pick herself up and get back to work. She meets Young B for drinks. Yandy hasn’t seen her since Young B got into a fight with the BBOD girls. Yandy asks about all the drama. She doesn’t want to be involved with anymore drama. Young B thought Moe sat down so they could hash things out, and move forward. It obviously didn’t happen that way. Yandy doesn’t want drama to stop her paycheck. Young B thinks Yandy would be making a huge mistake if she didn’t manage her. She’s not letting anyone drag her down to where she use to be. Yandy asks for time to decide if working together would be a good fit.  

DJ Self Facetime’s Cardi. He has to see her tonight. She agrees and says drinks are on him. His girlfriend walks down the stairs, so he hangs up with her. DJ Self isn’t sure he’s ready for commitment. That’s why he keeps going back to Cardi. His girlfriend Yorma is the jealous type. She thinks he’s screwing all kinds of girls. She finds jewelry in the bathroom and confronts him. She asks him what he has to hide. She wants to post a pic on Instagram of the ring. He doesn’t want her to do that. She wants him to post a pic of her on his social media accounts announcing their relationship. Self doesn’t want to do that either. Why would he bring women to his house? That’s what hotels are for. Classy. She’s getting all hysterical and he’s not helping. The only woman that’s been to his house is the cleaning lady. He doesn’t want to lose Yorma because of the maid. She’s so upset with him she starts speaking in Spanish. Yorma leaves. Self admits he has a side chick or two, but he doesn’t want to admit that right now.

Papoose is in the studio. Remy meets him there. She’s hoping “Mr. Drill Sargent” will let Rah help her plan the wedding. Papoose says they need to be careful about who’s in Remy’s circle. He’s not too happy with the idea of Rah helping. Remy doesn’t want to walk on eggshells wondering who’s going to stab her in the back. Papoose changes the subject to his daughter DJ. She use to look up to Remy, but they haven’t been seeing eye to eye lately. Remy says she turned 18. She doesn’t think she needs to listen to anyone. Remy thinks the kids are out of control, and it’s his fault. They did whatever they wanted while she was in prison. She wants to lay down the law. Papoose wants to have a family dinner to talk everything out.  

After hearing about Ashley making adult decisions, Rich wanted to talk to her mom. Their romantic relationship didn’t work out, but they remain respectful. Instead of talking about their daughter’s sex life, her mom wants Rich to take their daughter permanently. She wants to go do missionary work for two years. Rich agrees to take Ashley while her mom leaves the country. Rich breaks it gently. Their daughter isn’t a virgin. Well, mom doesn’t take it well. Rich tries to be a reassuring parent, but mom says she doesn’t think she should leave now. Rich says his daughter is in good hands.  

Papoose and Remy have a family dinner to hash things out. Papoose asks his daughter DJ about her eye. DJ says she was defending herself. Both parents aren’t falling for that. Remy puts it all on the table. She gives an anti-fighting speech. Remy also doesn’t like the kids to close their bedroom doors. The good news is they want the kids to be in their wedding.  

Tara’s pissed. She never would’ve moved into the same building if she knew Peter and Amina were still together. Once again Peter lied. Tara realized both women are looking for the same thing from Peter. The truth. Tara invited Peter over. Tara calls Peter out for lying about still being together with Amina. Peter says she doesn’t know they aren’t together, but she’s not happy. Peter says he never led Tara on. She was a willing participant. Tara says she moved so he could be close to the kids. Not so he could play with her emotions.

Tara invited Amina over so the truth can finally come out. Finally, the truth comes out. Well, sort of. All Amina gets out of the conversation is his “side bitch” wants to break them up. Oy Vey! What spell does Peter have these women under? After Amina says she can’t be silent anymore, she flies off the handle. She slaps and throws a phone at Peter. America cheers! Amina storms of the apartment. Oh and she’s pregnant!!

This cat fight continues next week.
