Bethenny Frankel: “Martha Stewart Never Misses the Opportunity to Say Something Negative About Me”

I'm a fiction writer by day and a reality TV addict by night.

Cast your mind all the way back to 2005. Remember when Martha Stewart, after her imposed vacay at Camp Cupcake, took a turn hosting Celebrity Apprentice? No? Well, Bethenny Frankel will never forget it, since she was the runner up.

On Late Night, Bethenny talked to Seth Meyers about her non-relationship with Martha. “She doesn’t like me. She never really has. She’s consistent.”

Apparently, the two were recently going to pair up and do “something” together on TV. Bethenny doesn’t say whether the project fell through, but it sounds like it to me.

“She’s always been like a parent that I’ve always tried to get them to love me, but I gave up on that a couple years ago when I had my own show. She just never misses the opportunity to say something negative about me or my products.”

Call me crazy, but it doesn’t sound like Bethenny’s over it.

Then she suggested that Martha become a cast member on The Real Housewives of New York. “She could get paid to rip me. You know what I mean? That’s good for drama.”

I don’t think Martha needs the money. Evidently, she gets off on slapping at Bethenny, and she doesn’t need a paycheck to do it.

In other news, casting for the upcoming eighth season of RHONY is still in limbo, due to contract negotiations. “I think that we’re all replaceable. In the very beginning when I started, we had a little clout… But, you know, you can find crazy people. Go to any mall in America, you can find some crazy bitches. …all the women think, ‘They can’t do the show without me.’ And then they end up having to do whatever Bravo wants them to because they all need it.”

I’d totally watch a Martha/Bethenny showdown, RHONY style. How about you? And who do you think is holding out on Bravo for a better deal?
