Kim Fields Spills The Tea on Joining Real Housewives of Atlanta & Show Drama!
The new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta begins this Sunday and fans of the show are most excited to meet newbie housewife, Kim Fields, aka Tootie from the “Facts of Life.”
When news first broke that Kim would be joining the cast, many fans were scratching their heads. Why would someone of her caliber join a show often known for displaying women’s loss of integrity? Kim and her wild hair joined Wendy Williams on the coach to dish it out.
“First of all, she (Kim’s mom) was like ‘They called you?’ And then she said, ‘Baby, if you can be light, then be light. Take care of my babies, take care of your man. You do what you want to do.’ And she understood the whole idea of the adventure of it.”
Did you know Kim didn’t know what “throwing shade” was? Yeah, hard to believe I knew what throwing shade was before she did.
Kim explained to Wendy, “I didn’t, I didn’t, I didn’t [know what throwing shade was]… I heard ‘ratchet’ but I wasn’t sure [about shade].”
Kim’s mother, Chip Fields, the “original momager,” is the reported driving force that got her daughter on RHOA. No word if we will meet her this season, though viewers will meet the rest of her family.
Kim said, “Chris is on the show, the kids are on the show, my sister Alexis does a couple of beats with me via Facetime and Skype… We are true to us.”
Those expecting to meet a grown up Tootie might be interested to know Kim feels she’s the “same chick” but a grown ass woman.
“The woman that you all have helped to raise in your own way by pouring into my career and my spirit, that’s the same chick that shows up, OK? So I’m true to myself.”
Tune in this Sunday, Nov 8, on Bravo at 8|7 c. Then tune into All About the Tea for the recap and discussion on the comments board. See you then!
