Andy Cohen Reveals He Got Emotional After Watching “Teresa Checks In” & Speaks to Teresa About The Special
“Real Housewives” creator, Andy Cohen, is sharing his thoughts after watching all three episodes of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In.” The three-part series follows, Teresa’s husband, Joe Giudice, as he takes care of the couples’ four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana, while their mother serves a 15-month prison sentence for fraud.
The series follows Joe as he raises their four daughters alone, doing the tasks that Teresa used to do, such as cooking and getting the kids ready for school. In Andy Cohen’s webisode series, “Ask Andy,” Cohen admits to getting emotional after watching all three parts of the series,
“Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Each episode of it.”
As previously reported, Cohen remains in direct contact with his Bravo imprisoned star. He goes on to say that Teresa wasn’t allowed to watch the show in its entirety prior to it being aired. And while Andy does not speak to Teresa via phone, he did reveal the two communicate by email on a regular basis. Andy confirms Teresa does watch the special from behind bars,
“No. No. But I e-mail with her, I e-mail with her all the time. And I said, ‘Are you gonna be watching?’ And she said she probably would be watching.”
Andy also praised Joe and Teresa’s eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, for taking on the mom role to her younger sisters and supporting her dad.
“Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” was used by the network to measure how Teresa Giudice would be received by viewers since her 10-month prison stint started. And with 1.2 million viewers tuning in for the premiere episode and a slight bump of 1.288 million viewers watching episode two, the show is being deemed a failure by the experts.
The finale episode of the series airs tonight and in a sneak peek, Teresa’s brother, Joe Gorga, suffers an emotional break down after visiting his sister for the first time. While no cameras were allowed in the prison, Joe spoke afterwards about what it was like to see his sister in prison greens.
“We were brought up as a family that never cried. I never saw my dad cry. I never saw my mother cry. Growing up, nothing broke me. But this broke me. I’m helpless. I couldn’t help her. I sat there for the first hour…crying. She grabbed my hand and she said, ‘It’s okay…’ No brother wants to see her sister locked up, four kids, you know?”
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” finale airs tonight, October 25 at 9|8c on Bravo.
