VIDEO: Joe Gorga Felt “Helpless” & Suffered Emotional Breakdown While Visiting Teresa Giudice In Prison
Distance and prison bars make the heart grow fonder! In this week’s installment of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” imprisoned Teresa Giudice receives a visit from her brother, Joe Gorga, minus her sister-in-law, Melissa.
In the final part of “Teresa Checks In,” Gorga visits his sister in prison for the first time and reflects on the anticipation leading up to the visit,
“I’m extremely nervous, I’m just sad,” he said while driving to the Danbury Correctional Institution with his family. “If she looks good, I’ll be happy. I don’t think I’ll be upset.”

The three-part series, “Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In,” was used by Bravo as a barometer to gauge how Teresa Giudice would be received by viewers since her 10-month incarceration in January for fraud. The show is being deemed a failure with only 1.2 million viewers tuning in for the premiere episode. Such dismal ratings indicate Bravo’s “star” will not be well received upon her return to reality television.
In the finale airing this Sunday, Gorga admits to suffering an emotional break down after witnessing his felon sister in prison greens for the first time. The normal mighty Gorga was brought to tears at the site.
“Growing up nothing broke me, but this broke me,” he said in his confessional. “I’m helpless, I couldn’t help her. I sat there for the first hour tearing, crying. She grabbed my hand and said, ‘It’s okay, I’m okay.’”
