The media blitz has begun! Joe Giudice recently sat down with Today Show host, Tamron Hall, to promote the upcoming, Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In. In the intro, Hall refers to the Giudice family as “reality royalty.” In her best “Dateline” mode, Hall asked Joe if it was worth it.

“No, of course it’s not worth it. It’s not that I’m not saying I didn’t do anything wrong or illegal, but it was definitely people behind talking to them and telling them we did this and telling but then we did that to bring it to their attention and being in the public eye didn’t help.”

The activities for which Teresa and Joe were convicted of occurred before the couple was cast on the ‘Real Housewives,’ but is sounds like Joe partly blames the show.

“I didn’t anticipate going on this show. I didn’t want to go on this show, number one. They were bothering us for over a year. We just thought we were going to do it and it was gonna be like no big deal. And that’s how we ended up here.”

At that point in time, Bravo had already launched RHOC and RHONY; and RHONJ and RHOA were in the works. Was it naïve of Joe to think it was going to be “no big deal? Perhaps. Hall then asked Giudice who’s to blame.

“Well I was to blame, sure. I took full responsibility for everything, but they still put her away,” he said. “[I] absolutely [feel guilty]. I was supposed to go away, not her. And that was part of the plea, what I thought anyway. I don’t know what happened in the court room that day… I feel like somebody just snapped my neck that day. I felt the pain, the chill going down my spine. I couldn’t believe it.”

During the interview, Joe’s demeanor is somber as he answered the questions in a it-is-what-it-is manner…until Hall asked about the other women we keep seeing Joe photographed with. Joe grinned, barely containing an all out smile.

“What’s the truth? I don’t date anybody,” Joe said. “I don’t go on dates. None of that’s true.”

At the end of the interview there was an awkward silence after Hall asked Giudice for his thoughts on the possibility of deportation after his 41-month sentence is completed. At first it seemed as if Joe was silent because he was all choke up. Turns out, Joe just doesn’t plan on speaking about that topic at all. Hall said the thought of deportation “scared this macho guy.”
