Much to the delight of many viewers, ABC kicked Kim Zolciak out of the Dancing With the Stars competition after she allegedly suffered a mini-stroke that prevented her from flying. Kim Zolciak-Biermann then went on social media rants pleading for the network to bring her and her partner, Tony Dovolani, back to the ballroom. And while they have a lot of support, their efforts fell on deaf ears because ABC refused to bend the rules for the Bravo diva.
#DWTS judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, agrees with her employer and shared her opinion with E! News,
“I think that it would not be fair,” she said, “because the rules are the rules and she didn’t compete. It doesn’t feel right for me for her to come back. She then continued, “The best part of this situation is she’s OK,” She had a stroke and she survived and she’s doing well.”
The Don’t Be Tardy star, started an online petition on Tuesday 29th September, to reverse her and partner Tony Dovolani’s Monday night elimination (insert your own joke here). The eliminated contestant who is suppose to be sick with a “serious” heart condition is trying desperately to prove she’s not a quitter. She posted the following on Instagram,
“I was cleared to dance on Friday when I was discharged from the hospital, so Saturday morning I was up rehearsing not even 12 hrs after,” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday evening. “I had no restrictions BUT flying until today. Yes the timing sucked, but ultimately my health is first.” She added, “I wanted to dance here in ATL via satellite. Last night I could dance. I just couldn’t fly.”
The #BringBackKimandTony petition to bring the pair back into the competition has over 23,000 signatures, and Kim has shared it with her Twitter followers, thanking them for their support. “I’m forever grateful for my dance partner @tonydovolani who has always supported me and All Of you my amazing fans!!!!!!!!” she wrote with a link to the petition (that is not affiliated with ABC). “Regardless I’ll be dancing my ass off at the finale.”
