The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will have a new look this season, the most refreshing of which will be the absence of what’s-her-name Glanville.
When one dirty door mercifully closes, a window of interesting possibility opens, and this time it might just be the new cast addition of Kathryn Eickstaedt Edwards. The word on Rodeo Drive is that the newbie is already stirring it up, and is sure to more than fill the dramatic shoes of the canned Bravo trashbox.
Reportedly, Kathryn and Kyle Richards have been at odds, because of Kyle’s closeness with the fan loathed, Faye Resnick. Many may not remember, or know the back-story behind the bitterness between Kathryn and Faye, and that tale is indeed a tragically interesting one.
Back in the day, Faye Resnick was a cocaine snorting, fast-lane living, self-described, “Beverly Hills socialite.” She had numerous husbands and lovers, sought rehab several times for drug addiction, and lived a humdrum, trashy existence, except for one blip. She was a casual friend of the slaughtered wife of football legend O.J. Simpson, Nicole Brown Simpson.
After the shocking double-murder, Resnick penned a book, Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted, a controversial read, released in 1994. The book was condemned and labeled “trash” by Nicole’s Simpson’s father, and others in Nicole’s inner circle lashed out and agreed, labeling Resnick a “drama queen and desperate for money.” There were those who claimed that Resnick’s account rang true, due to her closeness to Nicole over the last year of her life. Most agreed that despite her questionable and likely corrupt motives, Resnick accurately told the stories that Nicole confided to close friends about her precarious post-divorced private life, in the sexually charged read. This is where our new “Housewife” enters the picture.
Kathryn Edwards was married to the legendary Kansas City Chiefs running back, Marcus Allen, during this time period. Resnick accused Allen of having an affair with Nicole after she had separated from O.J. Simpson, who was one of Allen’s best friends. She wrote that the trysts occurred during Allen’s engagement to Kathryn, and even after the couple was married, ironically in a ceremony at the Simpson home.
Allen’s attorney, Ed Hookstratten, denied that the affair occurred, and commented,
“Although there may be some truth about some things in the book, when it relates to Marcus Allen it is absolutely false.”
Kathryn later divorced Allen, and married another NFL star, Donnie Edwards, in 2001 and the couple is still going strong today.

Resnick casted doubt on Kathryn’s marriage, and dragged she and her husband into a seedy, dark, and very public web of scandalous allegations that will probably never fade away. So my guess is that anyone close to Faye is NO friend of Kathryn’s.
Due to the overwhelming fan animosity for Faye Resnick, could Kathryn Edwards be poised to land in a fan favorite spot? I can’t wait to find out!
