Shannon Beador Weighs in on the Suspicions Surrounding Brooks’ Cancer: “This Episode Is Uncomfortable for Me to Watch”
Asian-infused fruit juices. Aries-tinis. Bobbing flowers and a dragon floating in the swimming pool. They can only add up to one thing: Shannon Beador is having a party! This time, we’re celebrating…I can’t remember what we’re celebrating, but this is The Real Housewives of Orange County, where every day is a chance to whoop it up. Every lunch is consumed with a bottle of champs. Boobs are perky, the sun is shining, and all is right with the world.
Well, sort of. It would be a perfect day in paradise if Meghan didn’t have a bee in her headband. She must, must I say, get to the bottom of Brooks stopping his chemo treatment. She devised a scheme to call his doctor and act like she had cancer herself. All in the name of justice, of course. And now Meghan can’t wait to share her brilliance with Shannon and Heather over dinner.
“It is quite clear that Meghan wants to get to the bottom of things. I would never pick up a phone and pretend that I was sick to get information.”
Not many of us would, because it’s intrusive and lowdown. And by the way, Shannon is damned tired of being questioned by the other girls about the Brooks/cancer storyline.
“Dinner with Heather and Meghan was shocking. The speculation and conversations about Brooks’ illness are not stopping and the women continue to ask me why Brooks has not seen one of the world-renowned doctors I referred to him. I don’t have the answer to that question.”
None of us have the answer to that question! I don’t know if Bravo is screwing with us or if Brooks is one slippery fish. I suspect a little of both. Shannon must be as frustrated about never getting a straight answer as we are. Weeks ago, she mentioned that she and Vicki aren’t as tight as they once were. Is it because Shannon entertained gossip that Brooks is a big fat faker?
“Telling Vicki about it blew up in my face at Brooks’ birthday dinner, so I am not going to let that happen again. I don’t want to doubt her or Brooks because I would never want to be doubted by one of my friends.”
Did she doubt it, though? That’s the question I’d love to ask Shannon. In her deepest heart of hearts, did she question his diagnosis?
And what about Vicki’s veracity? She got caught in a web of lies this week. She was outed by Tamra over spreading gossip about Meghan’s troubled marriage. Then Vicki turned around and blamed the whole incident on Tamra. (But let’s be honest, we all recognize Meghan’s union to Jim Edmonds isn’t a fairytale. Also, Tamra kind of deserves getting thrown to the wolves for all the shit she pulled last season.) But Shannon seems bothered most by Vicki’s claim that she never asked for Shannon’s help.
“To be clear, I would have done the research for Brooks’ illness whether asked or not. Vicki did ask me for my help, though, on the same day that she found out about his diagnosis.”
As for Meghan’s underhanded ways of getting dirt on Brooks:
“I was again floored by the information delivered by Meghan that she had contacted one of Brooks’ ex-girlfriends who apparently alleged that Brooks had faked cancer in the past. She is definitely on a mission to get to the truth.”
These women! They all need a project. Take a page from Heather’s book, ladies. Go build a 75 room house—that will keep you busy for a while.
So, does Shannon still believe Brooks? Or was she swayed by the info Meghan brought to the table?
