DWTS Season 21

Dust off your dancing shoes! The celebs have been announced for season 21 “Dancing with the Stars.” Some you’ll know. Some you won’t. And one you’ll wonder, how did they get him so fast?

Starting with those you know:

Kim Zolciak – Reality TV star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Tardy to the Party.” Dancing with Tony Dovolani.

Prediction – I kind of think she’s going to have two left feet like Kate Gosselin, but maybe she’ll surprise us. Kim won’t be the first sent home because of her fan base, but most likely sent packing around the middle.

Bindi Irwin – Daughter of Crocodile Hunter who was tragically killed while filming a segment for his show. Pretty young lady, at 17, she’s almost all grown up. Dancing with Derek Hough.

Prediction – Bindi will be a fan favorite and go far, whether she can dance or not, though I suspect she can.

Gary Busey – Most famous role was for barely surviving a motorcycle accident when not wearing a helmet. Also the guy who freaked out Celebrity Apprentice. Dancing with Anna Trebunskaya (poor thing).

Prediction – Will probably not advance too far due to prior injuries. Gary will have a difficult time not only learning the routine but mastering the steps.

Paula Deen – Southern chef infamous for admitting under oath to saying the “N” word, y’all. She also may or may not have come up with the donut burger worth 1,500 calories. Dancing with Louis Van Amstel.

Prediction – It’ll take a Hail Mary for Paula not to be the first person going home.

Chaka Khan – Funk legend, hopefully she’ll get to dance to her own song, “I Feel For You.” Dancing with Keo Motsepe.

Prediction – Totally unsure here. I want her to do well, but she is 62 years old. Fingers crossed that she wow’s us.

Nick Carter – Singer in boy band from the 90’s, Backstreet Boys. Also starred in two reality TV shows with family members for one season only each. Dancing with Sharna Burgess.

Prediction – Not sure. Might make it to the semi-finals. Might blow out his knee.

Andy Grammer – Pop singer with recent hit song, “Honey, I’m Good.” Dancing with Allison Holker.

Prediction – He will garner a lot of the young female votes and most likely can dance. Could be a semi-finalist.

Tamar Braxton – Singer, reality star and co-host of “The Real.” Younger sister to Toni Braxton. Dancing with Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

Prediction – Tamar might be tired because she’s doing so much. Rooting for her, though.

Now for the ones who aren’t household names:

Victor Espinoza – Triple Crown winning jockey for American Pharaoh. Dancing with Karina Smirnoff.

Prediction – Cannot wait to watch this guy! He’s only 5’2” and Karina is 5’4” but with two-inch heels, she’s suddenly a lot taller than he is.

Hayes Grier – Fifteen year old from North Carolina is considered a social media darling on Vine. Dancing with Emma Slater.

Prediction – Who freaking knows.

Carlos Pena Jr. – Another boy band member from Big Time Rush. Will be competing against his wife, Alexa Vega. Last time this happened was with Jewel and Ty Murray, but Jewel had to drop out due to injury. Dancing with Witney Carson.

Prediction – Should go pretty far. Carlos has probably been dancing since he was a little kid.

Alexa Vega – Accomplished young actress we’ve watched grow up from “Spy Kids” onto “Machete Kills.” Alexa is married to Carlos Pena and the two are known as PenaVega.

Prediction – She’ll probably do well.

Now for the one you might wonder A) who is he and B) how in the heck did they get him so fast?

Alek Skarlatos – Here’s a hint: You may not know who he is, but France sure does! He was one of three American heroes to stop the terrorist attack on the high-speed train to France. Awarded the Legion of Honor – their highest decoration.

Prediction – Wouldn’t it be great if he won! Definitely most deserved.

This season of “Dancing with the Stars” begins on Monday, September 14.
