In an exclusive clip of tonight’s episode, Leah Messer-Calvert finally decides to get help for her drug problem. Calvert waves farewell to her daughters as she prepares to head to a month of drug rehab.

It has been widely reported that Messer has been battling a dangerous pill habit, as well as scrapping with her ex-husband Corey Simms, and her estranged husband, Jeremy Calvert.

Calvert tells her twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, that she’s leaving tomorrow but will talk to them every day: “I’m going to miss you so much,” she says before the 5-year-olds scamper off to play.

“I have to leave my babies for a month, and I haven’t cried yet,” Calvert tells her mother, Dawn Spears. “I know I have to do this for them. I know I do, because the person I used to be, the happy person I used to be, is fading away.”

Calvert’s struggles blames her addiction on postpartum and the continuous legal battle between her and ex-husband Corey Simms for custody of the twins.

“When I was hurting so bad, I’d take the medication, because I could get up and go. I could take care of my kids. My back wasn’t hurting,” she tells her mother. “I told you guys, ‘I’ve got this medication. I feel like I’m becoming dependent. I can’t take this medication.’ I stopped taking the medication.”

Calvert adds, “That person I know I could be – and I will be again – is just crying for help inside me.”

Calvert and estranged husband Jeremy Calvert’s split is being documented on the current season of the show.
