Twitter Parody Spotlight: #TeenMom2’s Barbara Evans (Babs)

The weekend is almost here, and it’s time to giggle at another twist on Twitter, with the parody account of @babsevanstagram. This hysterical account pays homage to Teen Mom 2 star, Barbara Evans. Barbara is the sometimes loud, but always lovable mom of Teen Mom 2 train wreck, Jenelle Evans, and grandmother and guardian of Jenelle’s son, 5-year-old, Jace.  Barbara stepped in to mother newborn Jace, due to the Teen Mom’s preoccupation with finding trashy trouble around every corner. Viewers have watched Jenelle journey through pregnancies, births, arrests, addiction, abortion, and one loser boyfriend on top of the other. 

Barbara has remained steadfast in keeping Jace protected from the careening nightmare that is his mother, as well as endlessly supportive of any positive blip of growth in Jenelle’s life.  @babsevanstagram has 3310 Twitter followers, as well as a hefty 119k following on Instagram. We asked the anonymous Teen Mom fan what initially inspired the hilarious account, and what is the daily motivation to keep the laughs rolling?

I’ve always watched Teen Mom, so naturally I followed Jenelle and the rest of the Moms as well as the other Barbara Evans parody. Babs has (of course) always been my favorite person to watch on the show. I was born and raised in Boston so her spitfire attitude and accent have always been close to my heart. After all, her and I share the same accent and attitude! This was around the time that Instagram was becoming really popular and I wanted to do something different. That was the day Babsevanstagram was born! 

I get the opportunity to make a lot of people laugh every day and that’s what motivates me to keep the account going. It’s also pretty easy because Jenelle never fails to provide me with endless material.

When asked what the greatest challenge was for the mom of such a crazy teen reality star, Babs responded,

The hardest part about being “Babs” is watching the path of Jenelle’s destruction grow. She needs some serious help and I do hope that one of these arrests result in jail time. Jenelle needs to learn to own her actions and quit blaming everyone around her. It’s hard to watch her hurt her sons and her Mother who love her unconditionally even after everything that she has done.

Question…out of all of Jenelle’s boyfriends, who would make the absolute best, and absolute worst son in law?

The only ex-boyfriend that I would even consider to be somewhat of a good son-in-law would have to be Gary. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s trash just like the rest of her ex’s but I think he was good to Barbara when they dated. The absolute worst potential son-in-law is hands down Nasty Nate. When Jenelle married Courtland and rode off into a heroin soaked sunset I thought that it couldn’t possibly get any worse. Nathan definitely proved me wrong. He’s a manipulative, money hungry asshole who in some ways is exactly like Jenelle. He’s the worst thing that ever happened to her.
