RECAP: #TeenMom2 — Nathan Griffith Gets Arrested and Leah Messer Gets Served Divorce Papers [Episode 7]
Jenelle Evans
We kick off #TeenMom2, with the scene we have all been waiting for, as we listen in on a 911 call, reporting that Jenelle and Nathan are screaming like banshees at each other. We join Jenelle and a police officer, while she fills out a report, holding up a finger that we are supposed to believe is injured. She nails Nathan for domestic violence, as Nathan pleads for someone to believe that he didn’t hurt his loony lady love. If you look VERY closely and don’t blink, you may catch a glimmer of doubt on Jenelle’s face, as Nathan is carted away, bawling his eyes out. Hopefully, Jenelle caught her shining dramatic moment while in custody, after being arrested earlier Thursday for clunking Nathan’s current squeeze in the head with a glass. Thank goodness for DVRs!
Over at Babs’ place, we watch Babs helping Jace with his schoolwork, before jumping over to Jenelle’s just in time to learn that her signature on that report has triggered the state to press charges against the still jailed, Nathan. Jenelle retells the story to Krista, basically accusing Nathan of talking to a new chickie and then yanking the engagement ring off of her finger. Jenelle is powerless to get Nathan off, due to the state pushing forward, and Jenelle claims that she wants out of the stormy love affair.
Nathan makes bail, but because of a no contact order, he and Jenelle can’t talk or even scream over the phone at each other. We sit in on a convo between Nathan and a friend, where he explains his side of the “stupid altercation.” Nathan denies a tussle, but admits that he does chat with other women, from time to time. Nathan loves Jenelle, due to their synchronized beating hearts, but can’t tell her so, even on Facebook, his favorite spot for female correspondence. Word of the couple’s passionate love gets back to Jenelle, which abruptly halts her apartment search. Nathan calls and speaks to Jenelle’s vehicle passenger, obviously present to relay Nathan’s undying commitment to their family. Nathan assures the translator, who convinces Jenelle that every aspect of she and Nathan’s dysfunctional pairing will change in some way that sounds sort of like “drastically.” Jenelle is confused about where the heck she is supposed to live, but is open to getting her dark heartbeat back in synch with her tank top wearing bad boy.
Kailyn Lowry
We join Javi and Kailyn packing for their Florida vacation, and shockingly learn that they are actually excited to be in the same state. Another day means another positive pregnancy stick with this crew, and we learn that Vee has a bun in the oven. Vee and Jo hope that Isaac will be excited, and if they can pull off a girl, they think they may have a shot. Later, Jo and Isaac are playing on the floor, when Jo breaks the news that Vee is pregnant. Isaac seems confused, as he cuddles with his dad, probably wondering when this baby-making madness is ever gonna stop. Another burning question asks HOW can an adorable little nugget like Isaac, come from a specimen that looks like Jo? Kailyn and Javi talk about the big news, and Kailyn claims that it’s all good, but they can find themselves another babysitter. The couple decides to lay off the fighting during vacation, and enjoy celebrating Kailyn’s birthday.
Fast forward to Florida, where friends and family are gathered for a tropical good time. We hear about a party involving a limo, and Kailyn shares with her pals that her efforts to pick fights with Javi have been miraculous failures. The friends all agree that being a squabbling bitch is in Kailyn’s genes, and that Jo moving into Kailyn’s neighborhood, will be awkward and weird. Javi rents a gaudy party limo for Kailyn’s birthday, and Kailyn loves it. The group hits a club, and it is a fun night.
Chelsea Houska
When we check in with Chelsea, she is worried that Taylor and Adam may have settled their custody issues out of court. She shares that Adam pulled out all the stops by sending her an old lovebird photo taken during their good ol’ teen days, bringing back warm memories of days spent on her overused couch, crying her eyes out. Her lawyer isn’t worried about a criminal loser getting his way, and has found out that Adam and Taylor have not settled.
The day has arrived, and Chelsea’s family is there for support, but Chelsea is a wreck. Everyone is nervous that Adam will lie through his stupid teeth, and Grandpa Randy is forbidden to whip out his trademark smirk. Adam and his designated driver, Justin, head to the showdown, as moody Indie MTV tracks hauntingly play in the background. The case is heard, and nothing is altered with the custody agreement.
However, in a poetic twist, Adam is bagged and taken into custody, because he is behind in his child support, to baby mama #2. The family has a good chuckle on the way home, as we jump over to Adam and Justin, and listen in on Adam rattle off all of the excuses as to why the arrest was so disgustingly unjust. Justin dramatically states that his passenger’s custody fail feels like the end of his world. Odd. Chelsea and her family later chat about the favorable ruling, and once again, the disgusting loser that Aubree’s father is. High fives and twerking all around!
Leah Calvert
We check in with Leah, who lets us know that Jeremy has remained quiet about wanting a divorce. Leah is trying to stay strong, but is worried. She chats with her friend Kayla, who is debuting her teen granny inspired hair. Leah spills that Jeremy has only been coming home for quickies, but Leah is holding out a ray of hope, praying that her husband may like her for longer than 10 minutes at a time, once again. Life’s currents are sweeping Leah away. A tidal wave hits, as we hear that Jeremy had Leah served with divorce papers. Leah is trying to hold it together by dragging around wearing her gaudiest, hot pink top, but she is losing it, as she spills to her friend Amber that marriage #2 is biting the dust. Leah isn’t that happy-go-lucky girl anymore, like those good old days before we ever knew her. Being dumped is super exhausting, so she leaves her girls with her mom, in order to come to the conclusion that her stress and anxiety are taking over. She tells her cousin that she is horrified about the divorce, and that she is feeling hopeless.
Leah admits that she needs industrial strength therapy, in order to be someone else. Corey takes over twins duty, and it’s always nice to see them so well cared for. Leah has decided that Jeremy won’t ever want a junkie who runs a house like a dirty shelter, and wants Jeremy to know that she is seeking a stint in “reset button” rehab. She calls Jeremy, who is proud of her, and just wants her healthy…and far away from him. Leah implies that Jeremy needs help too, for abandoning her to earn a living, heartlessly leaving her to pop pills in solitude. She convincingly proclaims that she may come home a whole new person, maybe even someone who slays at cleaning AND waking up in the morning. Jeremy isn’t interested, which causes Leah to crumble, realizing her last resort strategy had failed.
The mama-drama rolls on next week…don’t miss it!
