RECAP: #BigBrother17 — The House Has Mixed Emojis [Episode 24]
The Double Eviction sent Jackie and Shelli packing off to the jury house. 4 Sixth Sense members remain. Who will win the next HOH? Let’s find out.
Day 57- Right after Jackie leaves Meg is super upset about Steve taking out Jackie. Becky, Meg, and James are confused. James thinks someone was in Steves’s ear. Meg wonders what’s going on. She always wonders what’s going on. She thinks she’s at Summer Camp.
Steve is very upset. He really didn’t want to win that HOH. He’s not sure he made the right move. He now thinks he’s a big target. Soon the twins come in and comfort a crying Steve. The twins thank Steve for keeping them safe. If they win power, they’ll make sure Steve stays safe. Vanessa comes in as Steve is crying to give him a hug. She tells him it’s just a game. Everyone understands it’s not personal. Steve asks for a minute alone to get his thoughts together. After everyone leaves, he looks at the camera and says he may have been 50% acting.
James sits in the bathroom with Austin and Liz to talk about what happened. Austin says they’re down 2 “Sixth Sense Alliance” members. Steve taking out Jackie shifted power, but he can’t act happy in front of James.
Becky, Meg, and James regroup after Jackie’s demise. They think they need to pull in Steve. Johnny Mac comes in to explain why he didn’t use the veto. They all say no hard feelings. Johnny Mac, James, Meg, and Becky all agree they need to stick together, and they need to pull in Steve for numbers.
Steve comes in to explain his reasoning. He explains to Meg and Becky he believed Jackie was coming after him. Meg says Jackie was never going after him. (They showed flashbacks of Vanessa implying Jackie was targeting him.) They believe Vanessa was influencing Steve. Steve decides to go with that because it makes the target on him smaller. He says they’re either serious or they’re lying and he respects their game. Meg decides it’s time to move on and wipe away the tears because Meg wants vengeance.
HOH Comp: “Mixed Emojis” This comp will be played tournament style. Steve picked competitor matches randomly. They will be asked a question about the emoji’s on the board. They are given 3 possible answers. The houseguest who rings in the correct emoji moves on. If you get the wrong answer, or you don’t ring in before your competitor, you will be eliminated. Steve hosted because as outgoing HOH he couldn’t compete. After 1 round we had the final 4. Meg vs. Johnny Mac= Johnny Mac got the answer. Julia vs. Liz= Julia rung in with the wrong answer and was eliminated. Final round: Johnny Mac vs. Liz= Liz got the correct answer and won HOH. Liz is over the moon. Finally their side is back in control and her sister and her are safe for the week. James just wants the twins to remember he never put them up. Becky Is scared.
The Twins and Austin celebrate in the bathroom. (They’re called “the Aus-twins”) Austin said he wanted to be Liz’s knight and shining armor, now he’s her squire or first lady. He’s ok with that. Liz and Austin are excited they get “The Brenchel” room. Whatever that means. Austin and Liz give each other a quick kiss.
Meg and Becky are bummed. Becky is worried. Vanessa is involved with everything that goes down in this house. She’s sure she’s the target.
Liz, Julia, and Vanessa do a little dance. Steve walks in and Liz tells him not to worry. He’s safe. Vanessa is already saying Becky needs to be the target. All the sudden Johnny Mac walks in and the girls stop talking. They just stare at him.
They did a little segment on Austin and James talking about being stranded in space or on an iceberg. They start talking about “Titanic.” James thinks it’s the best movie ever. He quotes the never let go part. Austin says they could’ve taken turns, and saving themselves. A pointless segment.
Liz tells Julia, Austin, and Vanessa she’s for sure targeting Becky. Vanessa is happy about this. Liz will get the blood on her hands. They talk about maybe backdooring Becky, and who they should put up next to her. They form an alliance called “Austin’s Angels.” (Vanessa, and The Aus-twins)
Becky decides it’s time to go up and talk to Liz. Liz asks Becky if there is anything she should know. Becky talks about Vanessa’s HOH. (When Vanessa was suppose to backdoor Austin, but instead took out Jason) Austin asks if someone was suppose to throw veto, so they could backdoor Austin. Becky says yes. They are mindblown by this information. Liz is second guessing her trust with Vanessa.
Johnny Mac and Meg are hanging out in the backyard. Johnny Mac sees a beach ball, and walks by Meg. He hits her in the head with it. Pretty funny.
Liz teases James and Steve about their relationship. James says hanging out with Steve started as strategy, but the guy grew on him. They come from very different worlds. Steve likes books. James likes beer. They enjoy each other’s company.
Vanessa and “The Aus-Twins” want to make sure they pull Steve and keep him on their side. That way they control the numbers. Steve, Vanessa, and “The Aus-Twins” are hanging out in the HOH room. They’ve been loosely working together for awhile, but it’s time to make their alliance official. They name their alliance “The Scamper Squad.”
Johnny Mac walks in to the Have Not room where Vanessa is taking a nap. He asks her if he’s going up. Vanessa says he’s not her main target. Vanessa decides it’s time to clear the air. They had a fight a few weeks back with Clay, and James. (When Johnny Mac told Clay he thinks Vanessa is in Shelli’s ear) She wants to work with him, but she knows he’s close with Becky. She’s not sure about his loyalties. She asks if he has any animosity with her. He says no. Vanessa proposes working together, so they need to clear everything up. Johnny Mac says he doesn’t like it when she yells and cries at everyone. He says he felt bullied. Vanessa takes this offensively, and says “I’m sorry you feel that way.”Vanessa says he’s making her want to target him. Not work with him. So much for working together.
Right after leaving Vanessa goes up to the HOH to let them know about her conversation with Johnny Mac. She says Johnny Mac was giving her attitude. She’s not sure he should just be a pawn. Johnny Mac walks into the HOH, and they tell him they’re talking. Johnny Mac says it’s fishy right after their talk, she comes up here. Vanessa says Johnny Mac is playing the dumb card, but he’s a Dr. She says it’s fishy? Ok go! (leave) Liz says after the information Becky told her, she isn’t sure what to believe.
Becky thinks exposing Vanessa might keep her safe. Johnny Mac says Vanessa saying he’s a threat might put him at risk.
Nomination Ceremony: Liz says her loyalties are based on loyalties and who’s a threat to her sister and her game. Liz nominates Becky and Johnny Mac. She says Johnny Mac is a “Veto Superstar” and has almost won HOH’s. She says Becky is an “undercover superwoman” who’s good at almost everything she does. Becky says it’s not surprising going from HOH to a nominee. She blames Vanessa. Vanessa says Johnny Mac is the backup target. He did that to himself.
