RECAP: #BigBrother17 — Eviction and The Twins Reunite [Episode 17]
One houseguest will say goodbye. Will the twins will enter the game as individual players? “The Sixth Sense Alliance” has ruled the house for weeks, and pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the Summer.
We left off with Vanessa apologizing to Jason for backdooring him. Jason called Vanessa’s apology “shallow as a puddle.” It was a big surprise to Meg, James, Jason, and Jackie. Jason says it’s hard to hold in your emotions in the house, but he plans on fighting for his life because “that’s what a superfan does.” One thing Jason notices: Clay and Shelli weren’t surprised. Jason now knows Shelli and Clay are behind every eviction.
Meg asks Clay in the storage room if he knew about backdooring Jason. Clay denies knowing. He tells Meg Vanessa made a deal with Austin. Meg thinks Vanessa told Austin everything. (About their failed 8-person alliance) Clay knows he and Shelli are walking a fine line because they are playing both sides of the house. Clay swears up and down he had no idea.
Austin is happy and confident. He thinks he and Liz (his fakemance) will go far in this game. Austin says 1 more for the good guys! (He swears America loves his and Liz’s romance.) He confesses he was a little nervous as Vanessa was giving her Veto speech.
Meg is very upset about this. She thought their alliance was real. She says she feels like a stupid girl now. Vanessa tells Meg everyone (including Shelli and Clay) knew about the new gameplan. She wouldn’t have done it without the house backing her.
Jackie comes up next to talk to Vanessa. She’s hurt, but more livid. Vanessa tells Jackie it came down to who she could trust. She had to go with her gut. Liz jumps in and agrees with Vanessa’s decision because Jason told the house about her twin. (Like everyone didn’t already know. Silly Liz.) Jackie asks Shelli what she thinks. Shelli kind of freaks out, and says she doesn’t want Jason to go. (Shelli freaking out gives Jackie confirmation. She knew.) Vanessa asks “You didn’t want Jason to go?” Shelli recovers quickly and says she doesn’t want anyone to go home! Vanessa claims she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Go with that Vanessa. Your victim act works.
Jackie catches onto the other side of the house. James, Meg, Jackie, and Jason start putting together pieces that make “The Sixth Sense Alliance.” Meg says Clay straight up lied about not knowing the plan. They all start getting emotional. Meg says “Stop putting up my people!” James tells them to get it together!
Vanessa and Shelli have a little argument. Vanessa calls Shelli and Clay out on denying they knew about backdooring Jason. She says Shelli denying she knew puts a bigger target on her back. Vanessa says she’ll be the number 1 target. Shelli says (in her DR) they built strong relationships with the other side of the house. If they know about Shelli and Clay being in on the plan to backdoor Jason, it makes them a target.
Jason and his allies know who stabbed them in the back. Jackie asks how they can get the numbers. Jackie brings up Austin and Liz. She calls them stupid. Jason says if they scare Shelli and Clay enough, and tell them Becky will go after them, maybe they can swing their votes. Jason gets to work. Jason says everyone gets paranoid, but promises them loyalty. He then says Becky will put up Clay and Shelli if she wins HOH. He then proposes a final 4 deal. (Jason, Meg, Shelli, and Clay) He also says they would win loyalty with Jackie, and James. He says he’ll do anything to get their votes.
Johnny Mac. What does his hometown, dental office, and family think about his time in the Big Brother house so far? Is it a mistake letting him coast through the game like he has? They first visit Johnny Mac’s dental office. They call him very professional. He’s very different on the show. They talk to one of his patients. He says he trusts Johnny Mac with his dental work. They move onto his family. His dad calls him a fun loving kid. He says he was floored when Johnny Mac said he was going to dental school because he didn’t do well in health class. His brother says his strategy is to get everyone to like him, then stab them in the back. (one-by-one) They said no one knows the real Johnny Mac. His dad says as a bass player he should have better rhythm. (He was watching their “Whackstreet Boys” performance.) They were surprised when they tried to convince him to not use the Veto on himself. Will the real Johnny Mac please stand up?
It’s time to kick out another houseguest. Becky gave her speech first. She says hello to everyone back home. She says everyone gets ugly or intense, but deep down everyone is loving. She has no bad words to say about Jason except it sucks being on the block with him. Jason’s speech: He thanked everyone on the Big Brother staff for bringing him on the show. He tells the houseguest to vote for whomever can take them far in the game. If he leaves he has no regrets. He was true to himself. Austin, Liz, Shelli, Steve (“with respect. Get to steppin,”) Jackie, Clay, and John vote to evict Jason. The vote was 7-2. Jason was officially evicted. (Everyone cry now.) Jason hugs almost everyone. He tells them to play hard. Don’t be lazy.
Jason meets Julie on stage. She gets down to business. She asks as a superfan how Jason didn’t see the blindside coming? He says he thought “The Dark Moon Alliance” was real. Shelli and Clay betrayed him. (He calls Shelli the devil incarnate) He says Vanessa is a more emotional player with more of a soul. He says she’s a good gamer. He says maybe they saw something threatening in him he doesn’t know about. He was getting too comfortable, and that usually means you’re in trouble. Julie asks if he thinks the rest of his alliance will survive. He responds by saying they have to! He’s pulling for Meg. He thinks she’s an underrated player, and she can go far.
The goodbye messages were pretty short. Shelli tells Jason about “The Sixth Sense Alliance,” Jackie & Meg get emotional, and Liz acts like a mean girl. She says because he told the house about Julia have fun watching in his parents basement.( Jason calls the twins evil.) Julie asks about Jason using his knowledge of the twins not for strategy, but for gossip. He says he couldn’t hold it in because it gets boring. They have nothing to talk about.
The twins made it though 5 evictions. You know what that means. Julia and Liz get to enter the house as individual players. Julie sits down with Julia to discuss her fate. She says as you know you had to make it through 5 evictions. The last she knew Liz was on the block, but a lot can happen in the BB house. It did. Liz won the last Battle of the Block comp which means she was safe. Julia will now enter the house. Julie calls them to the living room and says there was a lot of speculation about a twin twist. There have indeed been twins switching places. They have switched a total of 14 times. She says meet your new houseguest Julia. Julia rings the doorbell and comes in. Liz jumps her before she gets through the door. Everyone else is either shocked or excited. Julia hugs everyone.
Julie also says now that Julia has entered the house, the game is reset. The Battle of the Block competition is now over. There will only be 1 HOH, and 2 nominees. (The fans rejoiced on Twitter!) Now they have to head to the backyard for a grueling endurance HOH competition.
The power is up for grabs. This comp is called “On the Edge.” The game is simple. Hang on to the cliff for dear life. You fall off you are eliminated. What makes this competition grueling? The cliff tilts back and forth. Is that it? No Big Brother never makes it that simple! It starts raining on them. Very cold water. Meg and I think Jackie start screaming, and there’s some cursing going on from some houseguests. Is that it? No! They get attacked by electronic eagles who smack them right in the chest. James says “Is that all you got?”
The competition should be going on for hours, so it’s time to end the show. We find out on Sunday who held on the longest. Who will they nominate for eviction? Don’t forget about the live 24/7 unedited feeds!
