It Takes a Village! Kim Richards Needs Acupuncturist, Trainer and Chiropractor To Keep Her Sober

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Kim Richards, granted Entertainment Tonight her first post-rehab interview, shedding some light on where she stands in her latest shot at staying sober for longer than 30 days.  Which crack at lucidness is this one again?  I have lost count.

There is so much disingenuous nonsense in Richards’ responses, it is simply ridiculous.  First of all, Kim appears to be altered in some way, and YES KIM…everyone can see it. Richards’ countenance illustrates an obvious lack of humble awareness at all she has puked up on the viewers, as well as dragged her worn down family through. That alone is an enormous waving red flag, warning us that Kim’s “sobriety” is likely a pipe dream, not a reality.

In this clip, Kim tries to sincerely express that she “loves sobriety, and has always loved sobriety”, adding that “relapsing was very hard for me.”  Kim Richards may love the idea of sobriety, but her stubborn refusal to seek real change reveals someone who really loves the freedom to make quite the  opposite of clearheaded choices.  Notice that when she she speaks of her relapse, “me” is the sufferer, not her scarred children.  After being humiliated by a plastered mother who publicly crashed and burned and was hauled off to jail, three of her children bravely confronted the monster, only to plead with a parent, stubbornly unwilling to put them first.   Addiction is a horrifically selfish beast, and Kim Richards appears to remain self-absorbed and desperate to call her own shots. Kim rambled on, referencing those she has lined up to keep her standing,

“My psychiatrist, my life coach, all the people who live with me, I have a wonderful sponsor, I haver a home group, a great mediation girl, my acupuncturist girl…you know, she and I do acupuncture, trainers, chiropractors, I do ‘things’.”

Kim went on to defensively explain that her team of specialists all advised her to not go to treatment, and instead to just stick with them…they would band together to keep her from pouring vodka down her throat, or popping pills. It certainly seems evident that Kim is asserting that this last rehab stint was a throwaway.  Kim proudly points out that she sacrificed attending her niece Nicky Hilton’s fancy wedding.  This mention, designed to exhibit her commitment to recovery, rather reveals a true probable fear of creating yet another embarrassing spectacle, at a high-stakes, family event.

Kim also stiffened at the mention of the Dr. Phil interview, refusing to comment, past sharing that she didn’t regret storming out of the truth confrontation.  When asked how she told her kids about her arrest, she answered with “MY heart ached for my children. I felt terrible.” It is ALWAYS about the addict, even in their most valiant bids at selflessness.  It is worth noting, that Kim maintained an indignant, stubbornly confident expression throughout the exchange.

Earlier in the interview, Kim bit the dangled bait and spoke out against cast members, Lisa Vanderpump, and Lisa Rinna.  Vanderpump was labeled as “phony,” and an already hashed out incident with Rinna was revisited. Why would anyone operating in clarity of addict awareness, bother with offering such trivial silliness?

I know, I know…addiction is a disease. However, it is a condition that millions choose to abandon by choice, by commitment to a better, and more generously led life. I don’t believe Kim Richards is there yet.
