#RHONJ Kathy Wakile's Daughter Shares Update a Year After Surgery

In 2014, Kathy Wakile’s daughter, Victoria Wakile, 21, underwent her second surgery to remove a benign brain tumor.

A year later, Victoria is doing so much better. The college student has been busy enjoying life, hanging out with friends, and of course, her main lady, mom. Victoria shares an update on her Instagram page, “NOTHING else matter[s] when I hear the GOOD NEWS! A little over a year post op and my brain is behaving. thankful for my God sent angel on Earth, Dr. Neil Feldstein!”

On season four of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Kathy Wakile, shared her beautiful family and home with viewers. Seeing a loving and grounded family on the series was a welcome departure from the dysfunctional family feud that plagued season four. During that season, Kathy opened up about her daughter’s past medical struggles. Viewers discovered Victoria Wakile was diagnosed with a brain tumor as a child and underwent surgery in 2004.

Kathy opened up to the Daily Dish in September 2014 about Victoria’s health crisis, “We feel so incredibly blessed,” she said at the time. “Victoria is feeling wonderful and strong. We were very fortunate to have the finest neurosurgeon, Dr. Neil Feldstein, perform her surgery as he did 10 years ago along with the excellent medical staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital.”

In relation to Victoria’s condition, Kathy and her family have long been involved in raising brain tumor awareness. The RHONJ star’s Goddess Eye jewelry line gives a portion of its proceeds to the National Brain Tumor Society and the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation. In honor of her daughter’s recovery, she has also helped raise almost $500K for brain tumor research.
