As reported, Victoria Siegel, 18, was found unresponsive on Saturday at the family’s mansion in Florida, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Now a spokesperson for the family is disclosing a history of rehab and drug addiction.

Victoria Siegel, the daughter of “Queen of Versailles” stars, David and Jackie Siegel, had recently been released from rehab after struggling with her addiction to prescription drugs, family attorney and spokesman Michael Marder said Monday.

A housekeeper found Victoria unresponsive. Her parents were attending a wedding in Utah at the time and were immediately notified. The couple returned home the same day to be with their daughter, Marder said.

“The Siegel family is devastated and heartbroken by the loss of their beloved Victoria,” Marder said in a written statement. “They are hurt, deeply wounded and they are grieving. Victoria was a beautiful spirit with a wonderful smile who was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed.”

The young lady had a history of seizures and was prescribed medication as treatment. Marder did not say what medication she was prescribed.

“Unfortunately she became dependent [on the prescription drugs] and struggled with this condition,” Marder said. “She voluntarily underwent rehabilitation and was working hard to address this problem…” Adding, “It is likely that Victoria ingested one or more drugs prior to her death; however, we cannot determine at this time whether or not the drugs she took were in fact prescribed medication, something else, or where and how these drugs may have been obtained.”

An autopsy was completed Monday, but no official cause of death as authorities await the results of a toxicology test, said Tony Miranda, spokesman for the Orange-Osceola Medical Examiner’s Office.

Longtime personal driver to the Siegel’s, Cliff Wright, spoke to Radar about the mourning parents,

“It’s a hard time for them,” he explains, noting the stars of The Queen of Versailles documentary have cut off communication with most people while they grieve. “We had seen Victoria on Wednesday and she was not depressed. She was a happy girl.”

Wright went on to disclose the Siegels “will have the best people in the world” investigating their daughter’s tragic death.

“I know they’re doing it. [David] has a retired chief of police in New York City that has been working for him [as his national director of security] five to six months. He’ll get to the bottom of it.”
