David Foster, 65, is proving Lyme Disease can be a difficult battle but he’s there for his wife, Yolanda Foster. On May 19, the musician and producer put his love and support on display in a touching photo of him lovingly holding Yolanda in his arms. The pic above captioned, “When Love is Real it finds its way…. #ThroughTheDarkestDays #Loyalty My Love @officialdfoster.”

Yolanda Foster was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012 and has been struggling with the illness on and off ever since. The couple wed on November 11, 2011 and throughout Yolanda’s Lyme Disease ordeal, David has been at her side, tending to her and ensuring she has access to the best treatments possible.

Last month, David accompanied his wife to Asia and Germany seeking exploratory medical treatments not yet approved in the United States. In Germany, Yolanda underwent a stem cell transplant.

As her condition worsens, Yolanda’s future with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is uncertain. Reportedly, David has major concerns about the stress the show brings and the added pressures it poses to her health and wants her to quit the show.

“David has told Yolanda there is just no way she can return to the show because her condition is just getting worse. The Lyme disease is just ravaging her, and traveling for the international medical treatments is taking a toll. Yolanda is extremely weak, and her memory is suffering. David is just being protective because he doesn’t want any of the ladies to use her illness against her, as he knows those women are vicious.”

Back in December, she suffered a major relapse that took away her ability to read, write, and even to watch television, because of severely diminished brain function. Yolanda shared in her Bravo blog,

“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.”

Although season five of the Bravo series just finished airing, season six is already scheduled to begin production this summer and producers are meeting with the stars to structure story arcs for the upcoming season.

While Yolanda participated in the first half of the RHOBH reunion (season five), due to her sickness, she was not able to film the entire reunion. Yolanda opened up about the struggles of Lyme Disease in her final Bravo blog.

“My world has become very small. I have moved into an apartment with my husband and son in order to have a more manageable scope of responsibilities while I recover slowly and learn to take life one day at a time. Getting well is my full-time job these days. I am a determined warrior, and even though this has brought me to my knees, I know God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad of our greatest calling.”
