Brandi Glanville… a woman deserving of a prestigious award, celebrating “achievement?” That is what the ‘Associates for Breast and Prostrate Cancer Studies’ announced, when they recently honored the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, with their annual “Women of Achievement Award.”

Brandi has made a name for herself on Bravo reality TV, but many fans of the “Beverly Hills” franchise believe that the attention has been far from positive, or noteworthy. Brandi has proudly labeled herself “unfiltered,” but a large chunk of the viewing audience is convinced that such a stamp could be defined as mouthy, selfish, manipulative, and just plain gross. The reality star regularly and graphically boasts about promiscuous adventures, and has often been seen on and off camera, falling down drunk.

A mother of two young sons boasting about a stripper pole being a must-have, and who follows it up by jumping the twenty-something that schleps it from rental to rental, would not seem to be the natural choice for any sort of pat on the back honor. I suspect that Glanville’s idea of “achievement” differs from the same of any organization in the know, leading me to believe that somebody in this group may have forgotten to do some background homework. Fans of the show blasted the decision all over social media in the days that followed, overwhelmingly disgusted by Glanville’s preening over the honor. Her altered appearance, and inappropriately revealing attire worn to the annual luncheon, were also raked over the coals, in the ongoing online backlash.

We can only hope that Chandra Wilson does not watch the Brandi Glanville spectacle on Bravo, so she can still feel good about receiving this honor. After all, one could always fall back on the word “achievement” being defined in a number of not so reputable ways.
