The Brown and the Houston families have been co-existing in united purpose, as Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, remains in a life supported coma, sinceJanuary 31st. However, there are conflicting reports emerging on the young woman’s condition coming from the two camps, with the first public claim occurring during a concert where Bobby Brown spoke out, last Saturday night. He told the audience in an emotional announcement, that his daughter was off of life support, and breathing on her own, commenting, “Bobbi is awake, she’s watching me.”
Brown’s sister Tina, sought to back up and clarify her brother’s comment, when she later posted on her Facebook account,
“[Bobbi] woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers, still a process, but she is going to be ok:):):):).”
Jump forward to Monday, when TMZ reported that the Houston family is disputing the assertion that there has been any change in Bobbi Kristina’s condition. Sources close to the Houston family, claim that the family has no idea where Brown is getting his information, as well as why his sister is backing up his allegedly false claims. The Houston’s reportedly insist that Bobbi Kristina remains on a ventilator, with an occasional eye blink being the only signs of life.
Bobby Brown’s rep later told TMZ that Brown’s daughter’s condition has improved, and they can expect a “long life,” although the quality of life remains a question mark. Brown was seen outside the DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia, meeting with doctors, on Monday. The same day, Cissy Houston spoke directly to TMZ, and insisted that her granddaughter sadly remains completely unresponsive.
“Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me.”
“I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive.” Houston does remain faintly hopeful, and added, “We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.”
Why are the two families divided, and reporting such different stories? That is one of the questions that remains unanswered, the other being where exactly Bobbi Kristina’s condition stands today, and what the future holds for her.
