With back-to-back sentences, Teresa is currently serving 15-months and FCI Danbury and then Joe will turn himself for his 3 ½ year sentence upon her release. In an exclusive interview with Extra Joe talked about staying strong.
“When you have four kids you have to stay strong.” Joe said, “Her being away definitely makes me appreciate her way more, a lot more, and you know everything she did.”
Say what you want about Teresa, she was the heart of the family. It’s sad that it took her going away for Joe to appreciate that. Joe also spoke about how the girls communicate with their mother and how often they visit.
“They email her all the time… every day, so, they email more than me.” Joe added, “We try to make it up there every weekend and we bring her mom up every weekend.”

During the interview Joe divulged what Teresa’s daily life is like in prison.
“She’s got a little group she hangs out with and does her thing with every day, and who she goes to the gym with and who she hangs out with, and who does her hair and who does her nails… they have their little thing going every day.”
How did Joe feel about being kept waiting by Teresa during once visit for an hour while getting her hair done?
“I mean really… that was a little annoying.”
I’m sure Teresa finds spending 15 months in prison and time away from her daughters “a little annoying” too.
Joe explained that he doesn’t consider them to be criminals. “We’re not bad people, we’re not you know, these criminals or whatever, I don’t know whatever the hell they make us out to be.”
Convicted felons of bank and bankruptcy fraud is what they make you out to be. But hey, it’s not like they murdered anyone, right? As for whether they will return to the “Real Housewives” franchise that made them famous, Joe had this to say. “The numbers would have to be very big in order to go back so um, we’ll see… as of right now there’s nothing.”
