“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, Claudia Jordan, is busier than ever and loving it. In addition to joining this season of RHOA and her daily radio gig on the Rickey Smiley show, Claudia is about to star in an upcoming movie called, “The Hills.” Proving that NeNe Leakes is not the only working actor among the ladies. How did it all come together for her? Claudia told the Daily Dish,
“Since I started on the show, people reached out to me to come audition for Single Ladies, Power—a bunch of things are starting to come my way.”
Although Claudia has appeared in several TV shows and movies, she describes her acting work as “so sporadic” it never gave her time to focus on the craft. That’s changed now that she has the starring role in the upcoming thriller, alongside industry veterans Omar Gooding and Clifton Powell. The Hills will have you questioning “which side of the law you are on.”
“My costars are all seasoned actors and here I come and I’m a lead,” says Claudia. “It was amazing to work with them and have them say, ‘You did your thing.’”
In the film, Claudia plays Nurse Brady who falls in love with a prison corrections officer. Her love interest’s world is turned upside down when the man who killed his father is sent to his prison and is trying to kill him. “There are a lot of twists and turns,” says Claudia.
So, how did our girl Claudia feel about the loves scenes in the movie? She says they were “a little bit nerve-racking.” Fun fact: Claudia and her on-screen love interest have a bit of history. “He flirts with me sometimes when I see him out so I was like, ‘Oh, he’s into this.’ But it’s cool. That’s what acting is about.”
Tell it to Nene, girl! What would Claudia say to her if she had the chance?
“It’s funny to me, one of the things Nene said in Puerto Rico was, ‘Hollywood ain’t checkin for you’ and I said, ‘but Atlanta is, that’s why you’re so bothered.’ But Hollywood is checking for me.”
And so are we! Congrats to Claudia Jordan. We’ll be seeing you in the movies when “The Hills” opens later this year!
