Lisa Vanderpump Reigns at Mardi Gras!
Laissez les bon temps rouler! In other words, let the good times roll! And Lisa Vanderpump, Queen of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Vanderpump Rules,” is now officially Mardi Gras royalty.
Chosen to be in the Krewe of Orpheus, legend has it that when Orpheus played his lyre, his music was so beautiful that wild animals stopped hunting, mountains bowed, seas stopped spraying and trees bent to listen. That makes Lisa the perfect choice as Monarch of the Krewe Orpheus since this is the kind of attention she receives on a normal day.
Lisa shared her feelings on her Instagram. “What an amazing way to arrive in New Orleans! Such an honor to be Monarch of Orpheus #MardiGras #policeescort.” She added a video of her police escort ride through New Orleans.
As the floats made their way around the French Quarter, Lisa got into the Joie de Vivre of the evening, tossing out beads, enjoying her role as the Monarch. “So flattered…Apparently as the Monarch, even fabulous people like @dierksbentley have to bow down! I’m into this! #HappyMardiGras.”
Lisa wore a fabulous black dress that sparkled as much as she did with hot pinks gloves and a matching feathered mask. But this wasn’t all fun and games for Lisa. She found time to include support for a cause that’s near and dear to her. She told Nola.com:
“Just to be invited, to be included, having heard about Mardi Gras for absolutely years, to be invited as Monarch of Orpheus—also, Orpheus has always stood for all-inclusive, supportive of the LGBT community, which I’m a huge advocate for.” Lisa continued, “Just to be here and feel the love, the vibrancy, see the effort that goes into these days for Mardi Gras, is really something that’s second to none.”
You might be wondering if Lisa “earned” any beads down in the Big Easy. Here’s what she had to say about that.
“Not a boob in sight… So I might have to offer some up! #HappyMardiGras,” Lisa captioned a photo of her pretending she was about to flash the camera.
Viva la Lisa!
