Sad News: ‘RHOBH’ Star Yolanda Foster Handicapped By Lyme Disease, She Can No Longer Read & Write
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Yolanda Foster has been thrown back into the struggle of her life, and is once again opening up to share the details with the Bravo viewers. She shares in her Bravo blog this week that her battle with Lyme disease has kicked back into high gear with her newest challenges being triggered by a relapse that began in December.
“Most of you know I have been battling Lyme disease for the past three years. I wasted the first year trying to get diagnosed and spent the next two trying to find a cure. I have gone from the conventional long-term antibiotics to about every holistic protocol there is to offer. Unfortunately, I was only able to get to about a 60% recovery until I relapsed in early December and have not been able to find my way back.”
Yolanda goes on to share that this relapse has been crushing, and has taken away her ability to read, write, and even to watch television, because of severely diminished brain function.
“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.”
She posted a photo on her Instagram account from a hospital in Singapore, writing “I guess God gives his hardest battles to the strongest soldiers #MyHealthJourney#SearchForACure #NeuroLogicalLymeDisease Thank you to My love @officialdfoster and thank you to the most extraordinary staff at#MountElizabethNovenaHospital #Singapore for your kindness and excellent medical care“
Yolanda is clearly a fighter, and the attitude she is working to maintain is truly admirable. While she expresses that she is “of no use to anyone, or anything at this moment”, she is committed to doing everything she can to further the fight for all Lyme sufferers.
“I keep reminding myself that I was given this task for a greater purpose, which keeps me driven and motivated to think outside the box to make a difference not only for myself but for all my fellow Lymies suffering some form of this debilitating disease that we know so little about.”
Yolanda continues by expressing hope for her future, and an undying determination to press on for a cure.
“I am a firm believer that God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad of our greatest calling, so even though I have not found a cure, I have faith that I will.”
We wish her strength and healing as she presses on in her courageous fight against this terrible disease.
