NeNe Leakes‘, the 47 year-old star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” again saw her son, 25-year-old Bryson “Brice” Rashad Bryant, go to jail in 2014, when police picked up the repeat offender on probation violations, stemming from his June of 2013 arrest for DUI and reckless driving, according to court records.
He was given a sentence of one year of probation in February of 2014, due to his blood alcohol level being below the limit. Part of the probation requirement was to show up for regular meetings with an officer of the court, something that Mr. Bryant failed to do on four separate occasions. Furthermore, he failed a mandatory drug screening by testing positive for cocaine, failed to pay the required fine of $1,200, and failed to attend the mandatory driving school. By September of 2014, the court ordered Mr. Bryant to jail for a term of three months, which he served.
In November of 2014, he was released but still had the legal obligation to the county to reside in a six-week rehabilitation program. There is no word on whether or not he successfully completed this latest requirement but currently, Mr. Bryant is not on the Gwinnett County, Georgia, active inmates list so it can be assumed that at least in that county, he is a free man.
Mr. Bryant, whose father is a man who Ms. Leakes had a relationship with and is not the son of Gregg Leakes, has a family history of jail time and probation violations. In 1992, Mama NeNe, then the 25 year-old single mother of Bryson, whose legal name at the time was Linnethia Johnson, was charged with three felony counts of theft of services and one misdemeanor count connected to her telephone usage. After pleading guilty to all counts in an Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, Superior Court, she was ordered to pay $2,650 in restitution to the phone company and complete two years of probation. Unfortunately, Ms. Leakes also had a propensity to not fulfill her probation obligations and violated the rules three times, leading to arrests. So much for “Never Make the Same Mistake Twice: Lessons on Love and Life Learned the Hard Way” — the title of her 2009 autobiography, co-written with Denene Milner, and currently available from Amazon.com for $0.01.
Step-dad Gregory “Gregg” Leon Leakes has hardly been a good role model himself, having been arrested for alleged “theft by receiving” in Gwinnett County, Georgia, in 2002. Further investigation is needed to determine if Mr. Leakes served any jail time or probation himself.
Mr. Bryant has admitted to being the father of Bri’Asia Bryant, born in June, 2012, to Ashley Hill, according to an interview for “InTouch” magazine’s August 12, 2012 issue with NeNe Leakes, and is allegedly the father of a boy, Brayden Zaier Rashard Bryant, born on April 16, 2013, also to Ashley Hill, and a girl, Bria Malani Bryant, born on October 9, 2013, to Marina Robinson, according to friends of the two women.
