As we wave good bye to Christmas, and welcome 2015, we thought it might be a nice change of pace to take a break from the glut criminal news, and focus on the honest and the good for just a few moments. “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, Teresa Giudice, is set to surrender to federal prison is just over a week now, and while the newsworthy hits just keep on coming for this slammer bound reality princess, we thought that a refreshing little breather might be just what we all need.  A tiny ray of sunshine might be just what the reality doctor ordered, a brain cleanser if you will, before the next wave of felonious news hogs up our mind space again, probably any minute now.

RHONJ cast members, Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile, along with husbands, Chris and Rich, recently enjoyed an evening out, and posted pics on Instagram, sharing with their followers a visual of the cozy pre-new year’s dinner. Kathy’s Instagram post captioned, “Getting a head start Celebrating the New Year! #2015.”

Jacqueline posted the same photo as above on her Instagram account which captioned,”Out with my neighbors!! XOXO! #RidgewoodNJ #HappyNewYear.”

In the most recent season of the show, Kathy and Rich were building a new home (with real cash-money actually paying for the construction), and Kathy was gearing up to release her first dessert cookbook. Off camera, it was revealed that their daughter, Victoria, had been battling another brain cancer scare (brain tumor was benign), followed by another trying surgery, noting that the family weathered the rough patch as as a close unit.

Kathy shared Victoria’s experience with All About the Tea, as well as expressing excitement about her current goal of becoming a nurse.  We witnessed Jacqueline and Chris struggle with the challenges of raising their autistic son, Nicholas,as well as learning of their plans to responsibly downsize to live within their means, in response to the high cost of Nicholas’ care.  Financial responsibility?  GASP!!  Who knew that such a thing went on in Jersey, Bravo style?  Two families, committed to each other, and honest living….just  a reminder that this phenomenon DOES exist, EVEN in the world of reality TV!

As we bask in the positive energy, please ENJOY this brief reprieve!  Because as we all know, it will be BRIEF….and I expect to report of lots of dark and lawless hijinks in the days to come, sure to invade all of this glorious light. Happy 2015 everyone!
