Renee and Karen are meeting at Karen’s boyfriend’s sound studio. We are reminded that Storm has been working with new artists and that Karen is happy to be with him in NYC especially now that her daughter is ready to make the move there from Arizona. Renee’s cheshire grin over Natalie’s “tuck tail and run behavior” probably outshines my own… no, wait, it does not. I am STILL loving it! The two women are shocked that Drita and Big Ang took Natalie’s side over Renee’s since they’ve known Natalie (mouth-full-of) “Marbles” for so short a period of time and that they’ve known Renee for so long. Karen promises that it won’t happen for Drita to “crack Renee’s head” as she promised. Renee, in a TH, utters a line that is too perfect to have not been scripted. She says that Drita can crack her head for something she’s said, not something a crackhead said. Uh, BAM!
Natalie Marbles and London are at lunch. Natalie goes in on Karen and her father and says that being Sicilian, that she doesn’t associate with “rats” and “murderers.” Her attacks on Karen seem more personal, to me, than someone who has a simple beef on social media. She is going for the jugular, especially knowing that Karen isn’t around. She makes more threats to confront Karen and there seems to be some confusion between Marbles and London about what Storm actually said to him. Karen described it as a conversation between two men that became a report of being threatened with death when things actually ended well. Marbles sees it as a threat on their lives. London seems to see it as just the way Storm talks. Marbles thinks that Karen is living off of her father’s legacy. I’m wondering if she remembers why SHE was cast and what she has been bragging about being part of HER legacy. Seriously?
Renee and Drita meet and talk about their disagreement and Renee tells Drita that she didn’t say what Natalie claimed she said. She apologizes for the things she did say. Dritaand Renee make peace, but then Drita asks Renee to do the same and sit down and have a conversation with Natalie Marbles, to make peace. Renee tells her that she would let Drita punch her in the face before making peace with Natalie.
Later, when Big Ang talks about a party she’s throwing – to which Renee is not invited, Karen reminds them that they know NOTHING of Natalie, her family, where she’s from, who she is. She shows them the attacks Natalie made against her on social media, and that she called the cops on her and her boyfriend. The “dirty name” of “cop-caller” is thrown around. Drita says she can’t hang out with a “cop caller” because she’s usually throwing the first punch. So true. Karen throws the surreal line that when you hang out with trash (cop callers) you become trash.
Renee learns she can’t register a new car because her son has more than 3K in fines. She wants to know how he’ll be able to pay the fines and why he is now keeping secrets from her. While on the phone with a friend, the friend notes the disruption Junior brought into her son’s life and that he is now hiding things from her as a result. Renee goes to pay the fines, but not before expressing her fears that AJ will end up doing something stupid to try to get the money he needs to pay fines and end up in jail. I hope not because other than his frustration with his mother, he has been a pretty level headed kid who seems to have a bright future ahead of him. I hope it’s just her fear talking.
Drita and Natalie meet. The question of who is a “cop caller” comes up. Drita seems stunned when Natalie retaliates with the comment that Karen has some nerve since her father is a federal agent. Natalie denies ever calling the cops and insists that London and Storm are still at odds. Drita is confused about who is telling the truth. Having watched Nataliein action, I’m inclined to believe Karen.
Renee is meeting with AJ and reiterates her commitment to making sure her son doesn’t take a wrong turn. AJ is initially disrespectful but then apologizes. Too late, Renee feels that spending time with his grandfather will teach him about being more than spoiled; it will teach him how to become responsible and learn to respect her. AJ does not look pleased, but he has also stopped fighting with her.
Karen and Storm are together and she lets him know what Natalie is claiming. Storm tells Karen he was introduced to London by a promoter at a party, who thought they knew each other. They talked, and even exchanged numbers – something I would never do with someone I thought wanted to take me out. The couple plan to go to Big Ang’s Drunken Monkey party and Karen warns Storm that she has no plans to fight, but if she is taken out of character, he’d better have bail money. His response? “All Day.” Natalie should stay home, in my opinion.
It’s the night of the party and Ang tells Natalie that Karen and Storm are coming. She’s full of fight – in a TH. She tells Ang that Karen is a rat, which doesn’t sit well with Ang, who doesn’t think that Karen should be faulted for her father’s actions. Ang is not happy that Natalie won’t let it go. Drita shows up. She is hoping for confirmation of Natalie’s story but ends up warning Nat to stop attacking families or bad things are going to happen. Big Ang and Drita look stunned as Natalie continues going in. In walks Karen. Drita looks scared, for Natalie.
Natalie is talking big in THs, but running when Karen shows up. London walks up to Storm and they talk like old friends. Drita notices. Natalie walks up as Storm says to London that there shouldn’t be problems between people who don’t know each other and he’s not into talking about people he doesn’t know. Natalie turns that into an insult against her. London and Natalie fight when she feels that London betrayed her – yeah, that also happened outside, not in front of Storm. London feels he kept Natalie safe and kept the peace. Natalie turns Storm’s words into a threat against her. He never even looked in her direction when talking to London about not having beef with strangers.
Drita has to stop Natalie from confronting Storm now that she has turned the peace between the men into an attack on her. I’m telling you, she has COMPLETELY rewritten the peaceful conversation between them. Drita is telling Natalie to stop trying to get in the middle of men’s business when Karen decides to check out what’s going on.
They are outside when Marbles snaps. Karen tells her she doesn’t allow people to talk to her that way. She asks Karen who the **** is she. The response? KAREN! WHA’??? The show ends just as the fight begins.
Next week friends, next week!
I’m an exasperated soap fan who keeps hanging on – waiting for the daytime I once loved to return to its former glory! Hey, it doesn’t hurt to have a dream. I learned to love soaps thanks to my wonderful mother and grandmother. I’ll always have fond memories of daytime, most especially of ‘Another World’, my first stoap love. The ever great, but sadly defunct, daytime shows like Ryan’s Hope, Search for Tomorrow, The Doctors, Loving, and many others keep a special place in my heart, as well.
