Phaedra Parks Throws Shade at Costars on “Ellen” & Claudia Jordan Responds

As we wave good bye to the RHONJ this weekend, it’s time to go south y’all! Quite a bit has changed on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and to get us warmed up for the seventh season of the Atlanta franchise, Phaedra Parks made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, to catch us all up on the major changes in her personal life, and to dish on the upcoming season. Thank you to Twitter friend @UniqueShakur88 for bringing this pressing matter to my attention.

The forced southern belle persona kicked into high gear immediately as the Bravolebrity/lawyer/mortician/mother/breastfeeder/college student and wife of a jailed thief sat rigidly to chat with Ellen. When Ellen asked about her incarcerated husband, Apollo Nida, and if she claimed any awareness of his criminal activities, Phaedra denied knowing anything at all…while her eyes shifted upwards, downwards, sideways, and only occasionally at Ellen. Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to theft and identity fraud, back in March. The hustle had been going on for four years, and Apollo was already on parole following a previous prison stint when Phaedra married him.  According to Parks, the whole thing was a complete shock, but she worked hard to get him the best defense.  She has since filed for divorce.

“So I went out of my way to get him the best attorneys, the best investigators, and to do everything I could, because I’m an attorney myself. I wanted him to have the best, so we could fight this together, but obviously it did not turn out like that.”

Phaedra said she has just been too darn busy excelling to notice that the father of her two children had never changed his sketchy ways. You would think that this self professed “overachiever” might have seen the giant, waving red flag…unless of course, she herself was the flag bearer.

“I work, I just got my fifth college degree, and so I am pretty much an overachiever,” Parks told DeGeneres. “I have two very small children. I just stopped breast-feeding three months ago. So, I didn’t have any idea that any of this was going on until he called me and said, ‘Hey I’ve been arrested and I’m having this problem, but it’s not true.”

It’s interesting to note that Parks seemed to pause while listing off her achievements, seemingly hoping for some applause, which didn’t happen. I wonder why?

Ellen moved on to a game where she asked Phaedra to describe her Housewives cast mates with one quick thought. Parks predictably snarked on the different women, but new cast member and radio host, Claudia Jordan proved that she didn’t sign up with Bravo to play nice with a poser. Claudia had apparently been defending Kenya Moore during the season, and that earned her Parks’ hard thought tag of ‘Kenya Jr’.  Claudia fired back hard by tweeting a link to Angela Stanton’s memoir, where Stanton allegedly exposes the five degree earning, though innocently clueless, Phaedra Parks, as an overachieving criminal, in cahoots with soon to be ex husband, Apollo Nida.

I wasn’t looking forward to the RHOA this season…but SCRATCH THAT…because I think I may have found a new favorite Housewife!
