LeAnn Rimes Attacks DJ Who Exposed Her For Ruining David Gray Concert?
LeAnn Rimes is at it again, and we have a witness! Arizona KNIX DJ , Matt McAllister, had a chance encounter with the attention seeking Rimes, and it has sparked a war on Twitter, as well as an uncomfortable on air rehash of the annoying event. Matt explained on his broadcast that he was on a date night, attending a David Gray concert in the quiet, intimate Comerica Theater, in downtown Phoenix. They apparently landed the worst seats in the venue, because a woman seated directly behind them, was heard talking loudly, blathering to her companions about being invited up to perform with David on stage. Matt assumed because of the flat opening act, that she was some unknown Indie singer that David was throwing a bone to. When David did indeed invite her up, Matt was stunned to discover that the woman was country singer, LeAnn Rimes.
David indicated a friendship with Rimes in his introduction, they sang a song together, and Matt thought it was great. However, when she returned to her seat, in an ostentatious display complete with four security guards waving flashlights, the obnoxious behavior continued. Rimes and her cohorts resumed the loud bantering, and even worse, Rimes was heard singing OVER Gray, for over an hour. This was clearly NOT a David Gray concert, but a Rimes ode to David Gray, attention fest.
Thankfully, she left before the end, and Matt and his date were able to enjoy the last few songs. Wouldn’t most professional singers knock themselves out to be the MOST respectful to other artists? Does LeAnn not know this? I’m quite certain that she would be the MOST hyper aware of concert etiquette, if it was her performance. The best part of the on air rehash, was a voice from the studio background yelling, “HEY, LEANN….SHUT YOUR PIEHOLE!” Eloquent and to the point. I love it.
The story doesn’t end there, because in true, self absorbed Rimes fashion, there was much more attention mileage to be had. LeAnn happened to hear the broadcast and decided to open her piehole again to defend herself. She basically denied the chatter, shared that she and David are working on a collaboration project, and admitted to braying over David through most of the concert. Matt was kind, but doesn’t back down, and slipped in that she missed the best part of the concert, the last few songs. This was the segment of the show after she had left her seat, and allowed the couple some blessed musical peace. Nice job Matt. The Twitter hashtag assigned to the feud is #shutyourpiehole. I think the rest of America concurs.
“That’s kind of funny,” Rimes said. “I wasn’t talking except to figure out when I was going to go backstage.”
“I was singing for the rest of the concert,” she said.
“I call it like i see it, she’s calling in to say something different,” he said.
“No more talking crap,” Rimes said. “I will come kick your ass.”
“No more talking during shows,” McAllister rebuffed.
