Apollo Nida is re-adding a less prestigious line to his resume today: Bureau of Prisons inmate.

According to the Bureau of Prisons, Apollo Nida is suppose to report to FMC Lexington Federal Prison in Lexington, Kentucky, today (September 10th) at 12:00 p.m. EST.

Apollo Nida, 35, is no stranger to crime and prison. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” star served five years in federal prison from 2004 to 2009 for racketeering. Upon his release, he married Phaedra Parks and seemed to have turned his life around.

On May 6th, Nida was convicted of conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud and on July 8th, the reality star was sentenced to 8 years in prison with 5 years supervised release. He was ordered to serve his time at FMC Lexington Federal Prison in Lexington, Kentucky.

Apollo stated in court that the pressures of being on reality television and maintaining a lifestyle he couldn’t afford drove him to commit fraud and the situation took a major toll on him. So much, he once suffered a nervous breakdown over the massive strain to keep up with the Joneses.

“I take full responsibility for my actions. It was a dumb situation I put myself in. I got sucked in and engulfed and lost sight of things”

Before heading off to the slammer, Apollo did one last interview with Forbes Magazine:

Apollo has two major regrets:

“I have two major regrets. The first is not being true to myself. When I came out of prison the first time, I told myself that I never wanted to be in this situation again. I had numerous talks with myself. I knew how to stay out of trouble but I lost focus. I didn’t stay true and I found myself quickly caught up in the same lifestyle I left six years prior. When I came home from prison, I wanted to be different. I wanted to live an honest life. I really did. I should have stuck to my guns. My second regret is letting my boys down. Now, my kids are going to have Christmas without their dad because of my decisions. Although I let them down, I will never stop loving them.”

Does he regret appearing on the RHOA:

“When I look back on my five years on the show, I don’t regret being on the show. At the time, I thought I was supporting my wife and her role on the show. Now that I look back on where I am now and where I came from, I wish I had taken a step back and truly figured out how to determine a storyline without causing any controversy.”

What he’ll miss the most while in prison:

“First and foremost, I will miss my sons the most. Ayden and Dylan mean the world to me. I grew up without a father so leaving my boys is extremely difficult.”
