M2M Reunion

As  Andy begins his clever introduction, we immediately notice the secret garden to which the Md’s and Mrs. Md’s are all seated.  Andy lovingly calls it a Shady Grove. As we jump into catching babies, casting and catwalks, we get a slight reminder of the seasons clips of the business driven women. Within the first five minutes a jab is thrown at Mariah about her Executive Producer title. Lisa Nicole, Toya and of course Quad, chime in to tell Mariah that she throws her EP title in everyone’s face. Lisa Nicole tells Mariah she sends her Twitter Army to attack her. Mariah snaps back that she’s not the Twitter police and can’t control what people say on Twitter. Andy reacts to Mariah’s assertion about being the Twitter police with a bit of bemusement, and wants to know more about the retweets before deciding if she’s on the force. Tacky Toya has to threw her two cents in and turns things up a notch, accusing Mariah of firing her last season.

Mariah stands her ground and lets it roll off her back. She is cool as a cucumber. Quad makes a point to say it’s a vanity title, and that Mariah has no power to hire or fire anyone. This viewer felt like her title may have be rubbed in their face, but noticed that she never mentioned it one time throughout the season.

We jump into the dentist chair for an uncomfortable examination of Dr. Heavenly. With a coffee cup full of Vodka and a smile, Dr. Heavenly says, My truth is my truth. The doctors address when Dr. Heavenly gets defensive when complaining, she was called a b*tch, a whore, and not a real doctor.  Simone and Jackie say that Heavenly came in hard on the doctors. Andy asks Quad why did Heavenly come in so hard from jump. Quad naturally blames Mariah for putting a bug in her ear about Jackie and Simone. Heavenly agrees with Quad and misquotes Mariah, to which Mariah quickly clears up. She corrects Heavenly and says, If you come for Simone, she will come back for you, and Jackie is not the type to do that. Then two seconds later, Heavenly says flat out that Toya is not the brightest one in the group, right to her face. Ouch! Toya is not gonna let Heavenly (or anyone else) get away with telling her she is not smart! Both Simone and Heavenly have made a point this year to mention that Toya isn’t very bright. Andy asks Dr. H, Why did you say that she wasn’t the brightest in the group? Dr. H snaps Because she’s not! Andy just had to laugh when Heavenly clarified the statements she made about Toya’s intellect. And so did I.

M2M Reunion

A mini debate ensues between Simone, Jackie and Heavenly concerning Heavenly not being a real doctor comment. Heavenly said that statement was ignorant, to which Jackie immediately responds, there was a lot of ignorance at the table. To clarify, Jackie acknowledges a dentist is a doctor, it may not be the type of doctor that could be useful on a plane but yes, a dentist is a dr. Dr. H tells Jackie, You know a lot about the vagina, but you don’t know a whole lot about anything else. The ladies forced Andy into a major decision which doctor was smartest — and which doctor he’d want to help him if he was injured on a plane. At the end of the day, Andy decided that despite not having a vagina, he’d prefer an OBGYN to a dentist if things got troubling mid-air. Well he has a point there!

We move back onto the major friend fallout of the season….Quad and Mariah. As we try to get past the superficial reasons these two women went from best friends to fast enemies, Quad feels that Mariah was bad mouthing her and was condescending. Quad tells Mariah, You told her [Toya] I dated a drug dealer? Is that true? Mariah turns to Toya and says She definitely shouldn’t believe you. When Andy tried to get to the bottom of the Quad/Mariah feud, he found that perhaps he was as confused as ever. After some banter we know they really loved each other. Mariah apologizes gracefully to Quad. Seems like Mariah at one point in this conversation falls on her sword to make it better, and the audience is left with no conclusion to repair the friendship.

Clips of  Heavenly telling her 7-year old daughter, Alura to be submissive to her husband are shown. Lisa Nicole jumps in to tell Heavenly it would be better to teach her daughter how to act like a lady, self growth, rather than submission to a man. Dr. H tries to defend, her truth, by saying her daughter is being taught to be a leader, but that her daughter should be a wife and a mother first, and should submit to her husband. Toya is not going to let Heavenly get a pass on this one. Toya digs at Heavenly for telling her she is not smart. When in a shady grove, why not get shady? Submission to me means supportHeavenly defends her use of the word, which left many of the ladies, including Dr. S, up in arms! Heavenly stands her ground and doesn’t feel the need to guilt herself for submitting to her husband. To each their own. Mariah validates Heavenly’s belief in submission, but with a unique take, arguing Submission is different to every household.

Now we jump to the nastiness between Simone and Toya. It all started with a dance grinding on Toya’s husband by Simone, to which Simone admits she did go too far. Toya says she feels completely disrespected Simone. Toya tries explaining to Dr. Jackie why she felt disrespected by Simone gyrating on her husband. The action itself is not what bothered her but her refusal to stop after Toya asked her to. You know what they say: a gyration is only have the battle. Toya and Dr. S go back and forth until Simone tries to explain her side of the incident but is cut off by Toya, which escalates matters. Dr. S yells at Toya, If I really offended you why not call me up and say it?” Dr. S says they weren’t real friends and that’s ok with her. It turns into a screaming match with Andy in the middle with constant ringing in his ears. Toya feels like Simone launched a campaign of disrespect towards her. Simone said a real friend would have picked up the phone. Toya argues that she is not close enough friends with Simone to drop her a call! But does she have her number memorized?

Now this is were the reunion gets weird. Andy announces time for a  break and you can sense this catfight is not done. Simone tells Jackie backstage that Toya’s excuse for not calling her was due to them not talking everyday and that she could still call her or drive by her house. Toya is eavesdropping outside of Simone’s dressing room and jumps in continuing the fight. Sh*t gets real when Toya tells Simone she’s not a good mother for arguing in front of her son. Snap, Crackle, Pop! Simone responds, are you being a good mother with your raggedy broke ass? Yes, you read that right, raggedy broke ass!  Toya turns right around and Dr. S continues to blasts her repeatedly on her being broke. Toya charges at Simone as both women are held back from going to blows. Didn’t Toya do this last year to Mariah at Carrie’s party? As Dr. Simone’s son stands watching  on, Toya gets pulled back by Quad, screaming, “You’re a bitch for going there!” This battle is clearly not over, and we will have to see the conclusion of Dr. Slash,  Raggedy Broke Ass, Heavenly Hell, Posh Hater, Puppy Couture, and finally Queen Bee on next weeks airing of part two of the “Married to Medicine” reunion.
