Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy conducted the interview and as we all expected, Teresa Giudice did her normal “garner sympathy” song and dance.
The RHONJ ladies segment is introduced by a preview clip of season 6, then segues into the interview portion. Teresa is seated closest to the hosts.
Jenny jumps right in and starts the interview with Teresa’s legal drama. Jenny rattles off a list of Teresa’s fraud charges. Jenny tells the reality star, you pled guilty to 9 counts of mail, wire, bank and bankruptcy fraud. Jenny asked Teresa, is she is terrified and what’s the status of the case. The convicted felon clumsily tries to deflect the legal questions and emphasizes family and her father-in-law’s death. Teresa responded to Jenny with the following disjointed rehearsed statement:
“It’s been amazing, education, the way our legal system works. But right now what I’m focusing on is my family – my husband — I don’t know if you know, I just lost my father-in-law. My husband – not only did he lose his dad but he loss his best friend and my four beautiful daughters.”
However, Jenny wasn’t moved by
Fraudice’s Giudice’s sob story. Jenny or her co-host Sherri, did not acknowledge Teresa’s statement and asked again, “What’s the status of the case right now.” Bravo ladies!
Teresa responded, the case was pushed out to late September but (once again) she’s focused on her family. She then quickly tries to change gears and talk about promoting the new season. Deflect much?
Jenny then asked Melissa about the family feud and the status of her relationship with Teresa. Melissa tells her, every family goes through ups and downs but at the end of the day, they back each other up. Sherri, conveniently brings up the last time they were on the show, when Teresa displayed diva antics, demanding separate interviews from Melissa and Kathy.
Dina is next in the hot seat. Sherri asked her what made her come back. Dina boastfully claims she’s been asked back almost every season but as her friendship with Teresa grew she knew this season was the right time to return.
Jenny then asked Dina about the status of her relationship with her sister, Caroline Manzo. Dina responds that she’s “so over” talking about the matter publicly and that public perception is so different from what goes on privately.
[PAUSE: Who does Dina think she is? She agreed to bring her private life to television. That makes her family feuds fair game]
Dina then followed with, if she wanted to talk about family drama, she could have came back last season for more money but she didn’t. Good gravy, the season hasn’t even started and I’m already “so over” Dina “Zen” Manzo.
Their segment ended with the ladies commenting that the newcomers (and the men) are the ones causing the drama this season. We’ll see.
