Love & Hip Hop Star’s Nephew Held Without Bail For Attempting To Murder Him

Things are getting uglier in this situation!

According to the Patriot Ledger, Gai Scott, nephew of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star, Raymond “Benzino” Scott, plead not guilty to charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and armed assault with intent to murder. Gai Scott is being held without bail.

The 36-year old is accused of shooting his uncle, Benzino, during the funeral procession for Benzino’s mother. Gai Scott insists the shooting was self defense and that he only fired shots after Benzino threatened him.

Gai Scott’s, defense attorney, Rosemary Scapicchio asked the judge for more time so she can gather witnesses including Benzino for a  hearing. This will determine if Gai Scott can be freed on bail or if he’ll stay behind bars until trial.

The defense argues that the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star made threats to his nephew and other family members just prior to his mother’s funeral which prompted his nephew to shoot him multiple times.

So Benzino threatened him with words & in return got shot? Or did Benzino have a weapon too? It said threats were made before the funeral. So if Gai was that scared or felt his life was in danger, why go to the funeral? I could never imagine shooting someone over words, I don’t care what they said. I like my freedom more than words could ever hurt me. Now, if someone was trying to hurt me or my kids, different story. People are too quick to resort to violence over words.
