Stars of Little People, Big World, Matt Roloff, 54, and Amy Roloff, 50, announced they’re separating after 26 years of marriage.

The decision to separate doesn’t come as a surprise to many. The couple did not get along well on their reality show. Matt and Amy have been living separately since the holidays. Amy lives in the family’s main house on their sprawling Oregon farm while Matt resides in their guest house on the property.

The couple said divorce has not been discussed, their just living apart for now.

Amy and Matt released the following statement:

“Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation. Matt remains living on the farm in our guest house and we work together everyday on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children. We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, understanding and prayers from our family, friends and many fans. May God bless you.”

Amy adds that she felt she and her husband had “failed” to learn to live with each other — and that she didn’t want to separate.

“It’s not my choice for him to leave. I am saddened by it. We don’t have a plan as far as how we are going to work this out so it’s not going to be easy,”

The couple  have four children together. Jeremy and Zack (23-year-old twins), Molly (20-year-old ) and Jacob (17-year-old).
